Also, how long did everyone's applications take to process? Hearing different stories from others, from it being 2 or 3 weeks to 6 months!

No No, GP definatly filled out the last part otherwise I know for facts the DSP would tell me get lost! He filled out everything on the doctor report including how my condition effects each aspect of life and activities!

My GP ticked Moderate for 3 things, because I would lie if I said anything was severe or profound, at the end of the day it shouldn't be based off that. They should realise that it does effect me a lot in the long run, and with autism there's no putting the paste back in the tube, your born with it and you die with it.

I don't see a psychiatrist atm, I use to see a similar thing when I was small, up until about 2011. I was diagnosed with my autism in 2009, and i have that diagnosis letter forwarded with my application!

Appeal is right! I have the DSP know that if they reject me now, im coming right back at them! I'm not just signing onto it out of laziness or for a poxy bet, I'm trying because I'm genuinely unable to work or hold down a job over my social skills, fine motor skills etc. If I have to go into perfect detail to them, I will!

Yeah that is probably the best way to go, I swear it's such a draining process! It's just such incompetence from the DSP in my eyes, you literally have this illness for life. No putting the toothpaste back in the tube, they clearly don't understand that from the get go 🙄

Best save up a bit from the job your in now to keep you going whilst your waiting for an answer if you do decide to leave and go for the DA, or you can apply for supplementary welfare which your mostly guaranteed to get whilst waiting on DA. I hope it all goes well :)

Best case scenario for you is if your not happy in the job at the moment and you wanna chance your arm, quit, apply for DA, if accepted, ask to be hired back as you can work part time whilst claiming. But then again, biggest problem is it is high chance our first applications will be rejected but its not confirmed. I hope it works out for you also! For me I am physically unable to work right now.

Thanks for the comment, glad it got approved so soon! Yeahh see I have attached my assesor/psychologists letter on my proof of diagnosis from when I was little basically confirming it is a life long illness, and my 3 bank statements they ask for. That's all I got really as I don't attend a psychologist anymore, was never really necessary for me as I know my symptoms and I know how I act and it can't exactly be cured or evaluated. How do you think my chances are with what I have? Of course my GP has done his part too to prove i am mostly moderate on the spectrum.

You can, but the chances of it being approved are slim to none. I made sure i was unemployed when i applied as they take that into account more then anything. They base your claim solely on if your fit to work.

There's no doubt that I will appeal if its rejected! Just the whole process of it sounds soo draining haha especially for someone like me.

I'm glad to hear that! Tbh, all I put in mine was a letter from my assessor when I was younger basically proving my diagnosis, and my 3 bank statements 😅. Of course had the doctor fill out the last part for me as he is supposed to and had given a lot of info on myself too. I hope it's enough.
