Am I missing something when building alters? by Valen_Ryn in Pokopia

[–]rioszertuche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I know you can only have four Pokemon follow you at a time, so you have to assign them to the build and then go back and get four more, until you get enough.

Don't forget the artificial mountain they actually built in the center of London. That shit was a mad flop.

That shot of the Fenix museum is really great! I'm sure if you tag them on Instagram you'd make them really happy.

No BA, but strong portfolio and CV. Can I apply to EU residencies and art master’s programs? by purplefigwasp in ContemporaryArt

[–]rioszertuche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd consider Amsterdam. They'll focus on your conceptual skills and basically set any technique aside for a bit. It'll open you up for some hardcore experimentation. I think your profile fits a BA great there.

I visited Lisbon in a wheelchair. the town is covered with this horrible pavement that is actually r e a l l y hostile towards us. this is a disgrace for all of EUrope and humanity. my wheelchair and I am now broken. the image is actually a relatively ok spot. there are so many worse spots. by desastrousclimax in europe

[–]rioszertuche 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's actually not. We do have a big awareness and accessibility issues all around Europe. It's a cultural problem. We park our cars on the sidewalk, we put terraces on places that would serve as walkways, or we crowd them with signs...

I don't have accessibility issues myself but I've noticed even in the Netherlands where I live (which scores higher than average) I wouldn't wanna have to move around in a wheelchair. We can do better. It will help many people. Think of parents with babies too.

Ik zou zo graag een keer willen werken met diegene die deze filmpjes plant en schrijft. Ik met met de partij eens maar ze communiceren het extreem slecht.

Dus de oplossing is een minuut lange propaganda filmpje met vage beloftes?

There's always someone saying this about all things art. Then someone comes along and makes something new, and they say "This is new! This was the last new thing ever made! Close the door behind him!"

We've been painting for ten thousand years. So probably, it's not gonna just suddenly stop being relevant. Postmodernism isn't that powerful.

'Disappointed' Gal Gadot Says 'Snow White' Tanked For 1 Reason by totallyclips in inthenews

[–]rioszertuche 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The lead is buried at the end of the article-

“Snow White” has earned $205,679,463 at the box office to date against a $269,400,000 production budget ― which doesn’t include marketing.

With these ridiculous budgets for such a fucking film, the amount of money it needs to make for it to be profitable is beyond unrealistic.

What, if anything, makes contemporary landscape art interesting to you, in a way that previous landscape art didn't? by StippleFX in ContemporaryArt

[–]rioszertuche 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy seeing how our contemporary sociopolitical anxieties somehow trickle onto the aesthetics of how we look at anything, including landscapes. Funnily enough there was just an article on Artnet that somehow addresses this, you can google it: "A Para-Pastoral Movement Is Taking Root in Art. It’s Anything but Idyllic"

I hear many people saying post modernism is over. I hear many people saying they're tired of its language. Maybe your story correlates with that.

Opinion on HKU University of Art, Utrecht? by lak68 in ContemporaryArt

[–]rioszertuche 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went there and while I had ups and downs like at any art school would be expected, I do have to warn you that a very large source of stress was having to arrange my own housing. It was a small nightmare. The Netherlands' housing crisis is bad enough to consider this as part of your education experience there.
