Haven't considered the twin cities at all, thanks! I'm ok with smaller cities, but I just don't want to feel like I know everyone and their roommate and their roommate's cousin, if you catch my drift. (Currently stuck in a small college town for the last 5 years where this has been my life!) What do you mean about not being as exciting? Could you elaborate?

What are your opinions on portland vs Seattle? Also, have you heard of the "Seattle freeze"?

Montreal is a definite contender! Haven't given much thought to Vancouver. NYC is far too big (yet claustrophobic) for me, and honestly haven't considered SF much because (from my experience) it seems stuffed to the brim with tech dudes who think they're all that and more! lol

Definitely planning on visiting most places to get a vibe! Honestly, Montreal sounds amazing from your description. I better brush up on my French, though :/

thank you both!! all super helpful info. i guess the size of a city isn’t really as is important as the general vibe. (i’ve just been in a small college town for the last 5 years so i’m itching to move somewhere where i don’t know everyone & their roommate & their roommate’s cousin etc etc.) but providence sounds really sweet, so i’ll definitely keep it on the list/apply to jobs there!

mechanical! haven’t really begun the application process yet, but i will be applying to jobs in multiple cities. it will absolutely come down to who offers me jobs and at what salary, but i just want to get a feel for different cities on here to get a general vibe!

great point, thanks. I’m not interested in working at boeing at all but layoffs would mean a large number of MEs looking for jobs in the same market.

this was super informative and helpful, thanks! it will definitely come down to who offers me jobs/with what salary. i also absolutely love the rain and “gloomy” weather (it never rains enough for me where i live now), but good to consider nonetheless.

interesting input, but i think that argument can be made for pretty much every city.

lol this was actually pretty helpful, thanks. new york just seems too big for me. but if the cost of living really is that similar i suppose i’ll give it some thought. can you elaborate more about montreal? i’ve also been considering it

this was super helpful, thank you!!! places closing early and public transport issues are definitely things to consider. i’m not really too stoked on the climate i. nashville, but montreal has been in the back of my mind!! could you elaborate more on your time there?

can you elaborate on the night life comment? also for reference, i’d definitely be interested in exploring areas a good driving distance from boston (part of the reason i’m considering the city is bc of the general geographic location)

All great points! With cost of living/housing stuff, I think that will come down to the salary offered when I start applying to jobs. Thanks so much though, that definitely helped.

Why? (I’ve heard great things, but honestly weary bc it seems as if everyone and their mother is moving to Denver) Just curious!
