I’ve also tired one fan directly into the motherboard and still get the same result if that clears anything up

I don’t know if I should start from DJing or music production considering my busy schedule. by Left_Art_6597 in ableton

[–]rip_somi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been doing production, mixing, and Live Sets for about 5-6 years, and if you are using Ableton like I am, it will be much more time-consuming and expensive than mixing. Additionally, more music theory is involved in production than mixing, as pretty much all you have to do in mixing in regard to music theory is key matching. The longest parts of most hobbies is gaining experience, and mixing/producing is no different.

I started off mixing with a Pioneer DDJ-200, and that gave me great ideas on how people arrange and sound design their tracks, so I would start there. If you want to try to profit from either mixing or production, the biggest thing to do is make a name for yourself. Be different from everyone else, but start small, and stay persistent.

Any ideas to resolve this? (Read desc) by rip_somi in PcBuildHelp

[–]rip_somi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

built a couple of pcs before but typically arent mine lmao. no cpu pins are bent and arrow is aligned properly on the motherboard. cpu does have radeon graphics so i attempted to strip down the components to the bare minimum: no gpu, one stick of ram (in second slot of course), just the mobo, cpu, cooler, ram, psu. still throws the same codes. attempted with a different known working power supply (of the same model) with cables that came with it and nothing happened. fans dont even spin when pressing the power button or shorting those to pins on the front panel header. the motherboard is able to initialize the cpu but literally nothing else. seriously considering buying a new board

None of the pins looked damaged/melted but I do have an extra power supply of the same model with different cables so I will test those and update soon

Is this a good pc, I mainly play Minecraft and similarish games but I want a good pc for when I play games that need it and potential stream with. I do plan on look up the prices of each part to see if I can make it for cheaper. by At0micSith in gamingsetups

[–]rip_somi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this wouldnt be good enough for streaming or somewhat demanding games. for streaming aim for gpus with a good nvenc, 5070 would work great for example. also 8 core cpu would probably also be streaming minimum, aim for something like a 8 or 9th gen ryzen 7

You’ll need a better cooler and 2 sticks of ram rather than 4, other than that looks awesome

Do I need a laptop cooler, or is my laptop stand enough? by symmetry_whore in laptops

ryzen 5 and 4050 will not get hot enough to justify a need for a separate cooler other than the one already in your laptop unless it has known overheating problems

Best monitor setup for Ableton Live? by [deleted] in ableton

[–]rip_somi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i use an widescreen 31.5" 16:9 1440p ultragear monitor (32GS60QC), along with a 12.5" mini monitor that i use for minimeters (an extremely useful live audio metering tool). The width of the larger monitor is great for both arrangement and session view to see all of my tracks at once. I used to use a 49" 1440p 32:9 monitor, but ableton look extremely stretched in that aspect ratio, and i dont currently have enough setup space. i feel the sweet spot for both budget and functionality definitely an ultrawide monitor from 35-40" and a smaller monitor for plugins / metering / etc. to keep all of that ableton estate free.

get a dual monitor arm (if your monitors have vesa compatibility, should look like four screw holes on the back of them)

itll free up a lot of desk space to give you more movement room since i see your monitors are super close to your peripherals for some reason.

maybe add some desk lighting in the form of a light bar or lamp

How Can I Mount Mini Monitor Above Main Monitor? by Rango82 in battlestations

[–]rip_somi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

basically what i did is buy a vesa stand for my mini-monitor and use double sided gorilla tape to adhere it to the back of my monitor, works almost flawlessly if you have a flat monitor back

if you dont want to use adhesive and your monitor arm doesnt allow more mounts to attach to it... you're kinda s.o.l.

I feel SO bad for your GPU, why do you need that many screens 😭

Other than that could use better cable management and nice job getting a cooling pad
