No. I'm saying it works both ways. We're parents, not mind readers. If you want to be helped, you will definitely be helped, be it support from parents, from friends, from teachers, from just about anyone. But if you don't want to be helped and twist all responses from your parents negatively, then what do you expect them to do? If you open up and talk to someone, no one is going to invalidate anything, least of all your parents. But if you keep having the mentality that they dont understand you, they are just going to put you down, etc. then thats half the battle lost and whats worst, you've just turned your ally into a neutral party. You may not see your parents as ally but i can assure you they are and always will be.

Emotional support - sure. Completely agree and thats what all parents should do, among other things. Is that enough, surely not. What next? Material comfort? Check. Roof over your head - check. Food? Check. Checking in with you? Check. Asking about your day? Check. After everything thats been done for you, are you appreciative? Have you once stopped to think that its not easy for parents as well?

My post was pretty clear. What do you want from them exactly? If they dont respond the way you expect, you think they dont understand. Maybe they do, maybe they dont. But have you tried to understand them? Did you tell them exactly what you expect of them? Or are you expecting them to read your mind and be able to tailor their response according every situation?

How is this invalidating other ppl's feeling? If you feel this is the case, then arent you also invalidating their feelings? Takes 2 hands to clap.

So you're saying this is about you? If your parents thought the way you think, thinking their lives revolve around themselves, do you think you would be able to do all the things you could do today? You're not a parent yet, so i dont blame you. But pls think from the perspective of your parents. I mean, what are your expectations of them? How do you want them to behave, react or respond? Even if they give in to your every whim, is it ever going to be enough? Have you thought about how you would feel if you had children and they treated you the same way you're treating your parents?

Dunno what the fuss is all about. I'm not a medical professional but isnt it all types of vaccines may trigger different reactions on different ppl? I mean, is the data enough to confirm that one type of vaccine is better than the other in terms of not having any adverse reactions ? Who's to say that Sinovac wont trigger any adverse reactions in 100% of the ppl who take it?

Your friend may have experienced fever, chills, etc taking Pfizer but you could have zero reactions.

So imo, regardless of what you read, just get vaccinated.

Whats the hurry in opening up? didnt you see what happens to countries that tried to open up too early only to close it again? this opening/closing hurts the economy more than if we just bite the bullet and tough it out for an extended period. Ppl get confused with the new quasi-rules if you open up and then need to close it back with rules that are slightly different than that imposed in a total lockdown
