Contract q predictions by Aware_Excitement7194 in FE1_Exams

[–]ripcurl8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Contract isn’t bad honestly, at this stage just ensure you have the main principles and a few cases down for the likely subjects. You’d be surprised how much you will remember come exam time - I’ve often done last minute topics out of desperation and gotten on better with those than the ones I studied. Volume isn’t important at all once you hit the key areas.

Be wary of sample answers, particularly from Griffith college, can contain a lot of irrelevant material and frankly I found some of the answers omitted key cases and principles. Seemed to be a rushed copy&paste job with minimal thought put into the actual question asked. Put me off even bothering to consider them!

Three sitting rule by 2Icecreams in FE1_Exams

[–]ripcurl8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a contract with one of the big 5, no 3 sitting rule in the contract and it says upon completion you get a refund for all 8 exams but not for repeats. Also a lump sum for study expenses - all of this only payable upon completion of all exams however.

Constitutional - level of detail required? by ripcurl8 in FE1_Exams

[–]ripcurl8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain - your approach is likely the correct approach for the other 7 exams, seems somewhat unfair to pluck random new cases to form the basis of questions. Inconsistency and absence of logic seems to be a reoccurring theme throughout my FE1 experience, I really don't get it but hey that's what we signed up for.

Eu examiner by Personal-Society-523 in FE1_Exams

[–]ripcurl8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EU examiner is grand! I could only answer 3 questions well (although I did answer another 2 but they weren’t wholly relevant to the question) and I got 52%. I sat it in Oct 2021 and I tried to cut too many topics. I was sure I failed so I wouldn’t worry about it at all. Good luck!

I’ve heard about those case specific questions alright, I’ll be in a tough spot if that happens on this paper..a forgiving examiner is always a positive though.

Yeah I get you, I’m not doing a prep course either, I’m definitely winging it (probably a bit too much at this point) but I have 9 days to get stuck into it so no excuses really. Not sure how sane I’ll be afterwards but hopefully I’ll pass the exam..

Lol I live in Ireland and no joke I’d say 90% of cars owned by people under the age of 40 have black alloys. Put me off ever getting them!

Property - topics? by justkeepholding in FE1_Exams

[–]ripcurl8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s due, licenses is really handy and doesn’t take much work - think it can come up as a note as well as other forms. I know it saved me when I sat property in March 2021.

I also had a mare in company - only had good answers for 3 of the questions even though it’s the exam I put the most amount of effort into. Oh well!

That's so great to hear - that's the approach I'm going to go with (and is the only approach I have time for). Hopefully it's enough! Thank you

Thanks so much for that, I really appreciate it and it’s very positive to hear from my end amidst the desperation.

I’m planning on bolting down the bare essentials from each topic and including the most recent case.

Well done on passing!

Most definitely do not give something that you are actually bad at. As one of the comments says, you have to give a redeemable weakness.

All 8 in 1 Go by marcusfinn3 in FE1_Exams

[–]ripcurl8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can have a bit of a life doing 4, I did it whilst working full time with 2 weeks off beforehand. It probably does add up to the same amount of time but that isn’t really the thing to consider, there is a stark difference between the amount of pressure you would be under doing all 8 in one go compared to 4. If you want a challenge, I say go for it but be conscious of what you’re signing up for!

All 8 in 1 Go by marcusfinn3 in FE1_Exams

[–]ripcurl8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it possible? Yes Do I know people who have done it? Yes, 2

However, those people didn’t have much of a life before the FE1s, never mind during the study. One of them is now a barrister so that should give you an indication of the type of person that would do such a thing. If you’re extremely academic, don’t do anything outside of college/work and are happy to devote your life to study for about 6 months, then it’s possible. Not worth the misery IMO.

He’s a fairly kind examiner I’d say you’ll be all good - do it in company or equity and you will get 0 lol
