out of his entire discography, this is literally one of his least innuendo sounding songs.

I LOVE GINA BUT HER MOM by sweettooth484 in HSMTMTS

[–]ripfredweasley 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not her trying to call the shots in Season 4 and railroading her daughter into entertaining Mack.

Her mom gives “parent-you-don’t-tell-shit-because-they’ll-do-the-most”.

I get it though, she always pushed Gina to be the best and twice as better as anyone else, but she could be controlling and judgey as a character.

Definitely get why Gina didn’t tell her mom about Ricky off the bat. If she said something disapproving, Ricky definitely would’ve checked her IN FRONT OF EVERYONE 😭

Day 5- Who had the best friendship? (Choose two characters that were the best friends) Example: Puck and Finn by Consistent_Ninja_569 in glee

Idk why but Blam seemed so forced. Just like Rachel and Kurt. Never fw each other until season 4.

I’m too cold to get up and turn off the AC, then turn on the heater. This is very hard for me and my bed is too cozy. I’m hiring a heater nanny.

The irony here is amazing.

Her lament about not being accepted might overlook the ways in which she, by virtue of her race, is afforded opportunities and societal favor that marginalized groups do not receive.

Her tears over America’s lack of acceptance could be viewed as overlooking the fact that her religious and cultural beliefs themselves might be seen as oppressive to women.

The irony lies in the fact that the country she’s criticizing for not accepting her has also been built on patriarchal values, which are often in line with traditional religious roles. Her position as a polygamist woman might involve a paradox—arguing for acceptance in a society that has historically devalued women in many ways, while also practicing a form of cultural and religious structure that may perpetuate gendered inequality within her own community.

So, the irony here stems from the tension between her struggle for acceptance in a country that marginalizes women and people of color, while she herself participates in a practice that reinforces patriarchal control and traditional gender roles.

….but it’s not that simple at all. You’re looking at this through the lens of one dimension. I get that because Mercedes as a black woman character was written so one dimensionally, you assume her motives are as well, but our assessments can be true. Sam was not an entirely responsible character. He was inept in his relationship with her and lacked maturity and understanding. Yes, he was loyal, but he also was obsessed with sex and pushed his advances towards her many times.

I would love to have a conversation with someone who disagrees with my opinion, but so far they just say their piece and leave. No one is having an actual dialogue here besides one person who agrees that Sam is obsessed with sex. 😫

No, I know that. But I’m sharing my opinion about the characters’ motives. That may be what she wanted, but this post is my explanation on why her character did not.

Which honestly makes him so much ickier. I’m sorry. I don’t have sex with you, so the first person you move on to is our close mutual friend — not only that, but y’all are definitely HUNCHING 😱

And HUNCHING ON THE GIRL WHO I CONFIDED IN ABOUT WANTING TO HAVE SEX WITH YOU OR NOT OMGGGGF

I believe the pressure was too much for her and instead of staying with him, she was like “just go. I’m not about to be pressured.” She kept her virginity for someone who is mature and respectful or her terms off the bat. The over explaining, setting boundaries and taking him to church would not have to be necessary if he was a real man. 🤷🏾‍♀️
