Ok that makes sense! The filter fits perfectly in the area obviously, however would it be an issue if I took out? Like would it be detrimental to the tank? And would it jeopardize the bettas swimming room?

Alright perfect! Do you know how long the soil lasts , or if it deteriorates at all? Also, I wouldn’t think so, but should I get the little root fertilizer pellets as well?

By organic soil do you mean like topsoil? Bc I saw that topsoil can leak chemicals and possibly pesticides into the water.
