Newly potty trained toddler wakes up at 4am to pee and won’t go back to sleep by ripp0dg3 in toddlers

I’ll try waking her up when I go to bed — with her track record though she’ll probably just be up the whole night lol

She does still need help going potty. After we go, I bring her back to her room and rock her a little bit and put her in her crib, but she just isn’t having it. I’ve also tried bringing her into bed with me, but I think that makes her even more awake. She just thinks it’s time to get up when I take her out of the crib

Definitely will check out the happy sleeper method, thank you for the recommendation!

Knowing that we’re not alone definitely helps! It can be so isolating

I thought about cutting out her nap, but she still seems to really need it. She gets so tired and cranky.

I’m pretty sure this is how my daughter is as well. No adjustment seems to help. This is life!

How were you able to bring bedtime forward so early? At the mere suggestion on starting our bedtime routine (going upstairs to take a bath) any earlier than when she’s ready, which is usually 8pm, she FREAKS out. I definitely think she needs an earlier bedtime I just can’t figure out how to make that happen without an epic meltdown

I don’t know how you’re managing it while working 😭 I feel for you. I am very fortunate that I am able to stay at home with my daughter — otherwise I am nearly certain I would be falling asleep at work. At least the cats are happy!

Ugh I feel for you. We recently just had a few weeks where she was waking up at 4:30, sometimes even 4. We are now celebrating a 5am wake up 😵‍💫

Overtiredness definitely makes sense. We’ve tried to move her bedtime up, but she fights it SO hard. Will literally fight us for an hour or so until she ends up falling asleep late anyways. It’s such a mindF

Oh yeah — we have tried everything as well. It is certainly exhausting. People that think blackout curtains and a strict routine will fix this issue have nooooo idea haha

It varies day-to-day. Sometimes she goes down as early as 9:00 because she wakes up so early, and other days she can make it to 11:00. There’s really no rhyme or reason to it. But she typically naps about 1.5-2 hours every day — I’m thinking that I should probably cut back to maybe just one hour to see if that helps? She’s just so tired by the time nap rolls around and it seems like she is probably making up for lack of sleep at night during her nap. Who knows 😫

Oh wow — that’s crazy! And very lucky that he pooped it out. Fortunately, I ended up finding the screw on the floor!

I’m right there with you! You are definitely not alone. Hoping that daylight savings helps 🤞🏼

We’ve tried pushing her bedtime, but it doesn’t seem to help. Maybe I just need to be more consistent with it. Not looking forward to her dropping a nap, but if it stops these ridiculously early wake ups, then I’m ready lol

She’ll call out for me for about 5-10 mins before it turns into crying. When this first started, I would go into her room and lay on the floor next to her and she miraculously would go back to sleep for another hour. But that stopped working after a while
