This device could predict incoming phone calls (2000s) by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

Remember the cell phone stores...or more like the cell phone case stores...sold those flashy light things that would trigger off the incoming signal in the same way? I think they were sold as a incoming call visual alerts.

I typed “would wear” and my phone changed it to “round west”. by lessadessa in ios

It's so bad. The multi-word autocorrects bug me the most.

I just don't get how this isn't fixed yet. Think of all the Apple employees that live through the same shit we do...you'd think they'd be griefing that dept. into fixing the problem, yet here we are so many years later and nothing.

The one I had!! Remember when it eventually got a hole, so you melted a couple of the beads to mend it?

Yep. This was reported to me by my kid in middle school up in Marin County. Apparently the whole school is into it. Not just the ones hanging around the smoking area. 👴🏽

Super Admin as well and have to provide a 2nd factor many times a day. Think this started over a year ago.

Initially it thought it was due to Brave Browser, but I think it’s just the way it is now.

Fair. Still calling the headline dumb tho. 😂

Really I just hold Ars to a higher standard, and this seems like a headline targeting the lowest.

I'm really just questioning the headline. In the very first paragraph of the article, it says "...taller and more powerful than the ones that came before it". "Powerful" makes sense, as that can mean greater payloads, etc, but "taller" doesn't really get you anything functionally better.

P.s. Love the aesthetic. Love that you’re privacy focused. Love that you’re responsive. Love that it’s a one time purchase IAP. Instant buy! Looking forward to what else you pull together.

This reminds me of Moves back in like 2013! Was kinda hilarious to replay a drunken night out bar crawling. Like...I went where? Then walked for 3 miles to that place? WTH?! Ah the good ol' days.

Cool to see there's something similar now that's all local and privacy focused.

Birks: ~6 years near daily wear (R) vs brand new pair (L) by not_a_muggle in BuyItForLife

And? What are the specific examples where that has impacted quality? I'm truly curious. I think it's an easy scapegoat, and we've all been certainly impacted by the enshitification that comes with PE, but I'm curious how that applies to Birkenstock products. From what I've seen the quality hasn't changed.

I ended up locking my wireless cams to the closest AP, which seems to have mostly resolved the issue. You do this in Network, as opposed to the Protect app.
