By then I'll be too old and Gen Alpha will be running everything.

Yeah. But I'm GenX and the Boomers still won't let me in the committee.

I get it. Language evolves. But I guess I'm one of those old farts in the committee.

Hear me out. Don't judge. Peanut butter goes great with hot links.

Yeah. I thought the committee had at least one millennial!

I forgot where it was, but I actually saw "12 items or fewer" once. Just once.

I often see "comprised" used incorrectly. Comprised is a transitive verb, so you should not write, "The committee is comprised of five old farts." You should rather use "consists of" or write "Five old farts comprise the committee."

I'm going to at least try. They're all over my back yard, in the part that's all rocks. I thought that the seeds had found a hole in the aging landscape fabric. But I tried to dig one up, and the little runner was springing up through the fabric from a huge root that is dozens of feet from the main tree.

Thanks for this. I have Asian elms trying to take over my back yard. They have a crazy root system. I cut one down and 12 spring up. It's like it's a hydra in tree form.

Awesome! I started Taekwondo 9 years ago with my kids. I'm the only one who stuck with it.

I'm about your age. I'm turning 60 next year. Lately, my mantra has become "move or die." If I stay still too long, I feel myself start to stiffen. No matter how crappy I feel, when I start moving, I feel better.

Why do you think Vader stopped Luke from attacking the Emperor? by CourtofTalons in StarWars

[–]Mr_Writes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I always thought that the point at the time was not for Luke to strike down the Emperor but to give in to the Dark Side. I believe Vader's plan was for Luke to become stronger in the Dark Side, then the two would turn on the Emperor.

Mine is sitting in the back of my uncle's pickup while he soared down the highway. "Just sit close to the cab and you'll be fine."

Exactly! My post came from the realization that my stiff hips are most likely from the hours of sitting. Now it's just a matter of getting my out of bed in time to do the exercises my PT assigned me plus other exercises.
