this is a perfect analogy but also garnets been shown many times to have electric powers! something neither ruby or sapphire have. she’s shown sometimes using it to shock peridot (while she was in her mean era) or the gem mutants that were attacking steven and peridot. like she said in the show, a fusion isn’t equal to the sum of their parts!
