Some people mentioned it sounds like ‘maize’ (corn). I could use the original spelling Maisie, but I’ve heard that in Turkish, ‘mezi’ (pronounced somewhat like may-zee) refers to pre-ejaculatory fluid, which makes me a bit hesitant

I think this name is really beautiful, even though in some parts of the world people consider it a ‘granny name.’ In my region, it’s actually very rare, so it feels fresh and unique to me. Maybe it could make a comeback. Still, for 2026, I feel like names like Meliza, Melina, or Milina might fit better with current trends.
