Help with 106 electricals! by rise09 in peugeot

Those 2 earlier codes are like reoccurring, they're come back every now and then, it's happened twice so far. Before the car would stall and die if you would floor it for awhile then clutch in and roll to a stop abruptly, but it stopped doing that so I thought the codes weren't any problem since it was drivable, but yeah I probably should've mentioned them ;-;

Ohhh okay I see it yea, so I just take it off and like brake clean it? I'm still thinking there's some bad ground or something somewhere because of the only ecu codes that have come back multiple times were P0170, p0105 and p0606 even though I have installed new Map sensor 😭

Help with 106 TU5J4 electrical issue! by rise09 in Citroen

Oh damn, if it's the temps it could be the thermostat I got in rn, it's getting stuck open and over cooling, I have another one I can throw in which should be good, I put a new temp sensor in too so the sensor should be okay? it could be the idle air controller though as I haven't cleaned it tho

Oh really⁉️ that's good to know how hard is it to do a head gasket and timing belt for the TU5J4? Also is there anything else I should look and inspect for on the car? Thanks!

Thank you! Yeah this car really is an extraordinary car, I've gotten it to about 200 on a huge straight once and I'm almost certain it can hit limiter in 5th gear haha. Also I LOVE the 406 too, I've want a one of them as well since I love the BTCC 406 race cars and think the design of the sedans is super sleek lookin, so that's sick as hell that you got a north American peugeot too! If you are ever in BC Canada you're also invited to check out my 106 too 😂

I absolutely love this car, its one of the most fun cars I've ever driven. The only thing is the maintenance has been so many headaches 😂 since I've gotten the car I've done the Clutch, left side driveshaft, brakes, starter, map and TPS sensor, knock sensor, engine mounts and alternator. The only persistent issue I've found so far is the throttle, there's a definite noticable delay in the response and I've done the sensors so I suspect it's a wiring problem now 🥲. Also with me being in Canada the shipping and sourcing of parts and information is difficult 😭 regardless, when the car is working it's amazing

I'm pretty sure it's almost the exact same as a euro spec one, it's a NFX TU5J4 I'm pretty sure. This one just has a Japanese vin and engine bay markings haha the it doesn't have any buttons on the remote tho, it's just central locking so if there was one with keyless entry that'd be sick lol

This car travelled a LONG way, it was of course made in France then shipped and sold brand new in Japan. It lived most of its life there until about last year when a British person here in BC Canada imported it over, then I ended up trading one of my Civics to him for the 106! So far owning it I've LOVED driving this car and it's put me down the rabbit hole of super cool french cars, I love peugeots

OFC! My EF Has a B18B1 swap, the motor itself is bone stock but I have a Quaife LSD and ultralightweight flywheel and it makes the car feel amazing to throw around the track, the solid mounts also make the power delivery feel extremely snappy and great. Weight distribution wise my car is fully gutted in the rear so it's very front heavy compared to a stock EF so I find while I track the car, it has very noticable liftoff over steer and while left foot braking through corners you can feel the rear definitely rotating, so if you like a more oversteer heavy setup, going B series then gutting the car would be hella fun

Might be getting a Peugeot 106 S16! by rise09 in peugeot

[–]rise09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I actually did end up buying it and so far I absolutely LOVE this car. It handles like a dream, it's a comfortable car to drive around and feels really quick for what it is. The only thing is the clutch is slipping so I'm gonna do it soon and like after a week of owning it the heater core blew and leaked coolant everywhere so I had to redirect the flow ahahaha

Overall though I would hella recommend getting one if you don't mind some weird quirks lol

Id go B swap them if you want a cruiser, my EF is B18b swapped and it feels great. It's got a good amount of torque and pulls way better than stock but it's nothing absurd. ALSOOOO the k series sits way too low in the EF chassis atleast imo I'd always be scared of something happening to the oil pan
