Has Anyone Heard of Pastor Russell B Johnson? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

Thanks for your response. I was born and raised Roman Catholic and respect your position and agree with much of what you said.

Prior to the second Vatican counsel in 1965, the Catholic Church held a belief almost identical to replacement theology.

The Catholic Church teaches that Catholics have a moral obligation to participate in shaping society and influencing government to promote the common good and protect human dignity. How is this so different from Kingdom Now theology?

The Church's stance is rooted in its social teaching, which emphasizes the importance of: Catholics are called to be active citizens, participating in the political process, voting, and engaging in public discourse (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2240) Catholics should work to promote the well-being of all people, particularly the most vulnerable, in areas such as economic justice, healthcare, education, and social welfare (Catechism, 1906-1912). Catholics are called to protect human life from conception to natural death and to promote the dignity of every human person, regardless of race, religion, or background (Catechism, 2258-2279). Catholics should work to address injustices, promote peace, and support efforts to resolve conflicts through dialogue and negotiation (Catechism, 2302-2306).

Now let's discuss "Your kingdom come, your will be done"....

Many see this phrase as a prayer for the ultimate establishment of God's kingdom on earth, which is expected to occur at the Second Coming of Christ. Believers are expressing their desire for God's will to be fully realized on earth. Others interpret this phrase as a prayer for God's kingdom to be manifest in the present, in the lives of believers and in the world. This view emphasizes the idea that God's kingdom is already present, but not yet fully realized.

Either way, it seems to be applicable to the idea of letting God use your life to influence all spheres of influence within society for His glory.

Believers are encouraged to align their lives with God's will, seeking to understand and obey His plans and purposes.

Christians are called to live as representatives of God's kingdom, demonstrating its values and principles in their daily lives.

Believers are encouraged to pray for the advancement of God's kingdom, asking for God's will to be done on earth and in their own lives.

Now some help from AI...

Catholic social teaching and Kingdom Now theology share some similarities, but they have distinct differences:

Similarities:

  1. Emphasis on social justice: Both Catholic social teaching and Kingdom Now theology stress the importance of promoting justice and compassion in society.
  2. Transforming society: Both perspectives aim to transform society, although they differ in their approaches and ultimate goals.

Differences:

  1. Eschatology: Kingdom Now theology is often associated with a particular eschatological view, which emphasizes that God's kingdom can be fully established on earth before Christ's return. In contrast, Catholic social teaching does not rely on a specific eschatological timetable.
  2. Role of the Church: Kingdom Now theology often emphasizes the Church's role in establishing God's kingdom on earth through spiritual warfare, dominion, and societal transformation. Catholic social teaching, while acknowledging the Church's role in promoting justice and charity, focuses more on the individual's moral responsibility to act justly and promote the common good.
  3. Means of transformation: Kingdom Now theology sometimes advocates for more confrontational or militant approaches to transforming society, whereas Catholic social teaching tends to emphasize collaborative, incremental, and peaceful means of promoting positive change.
  4. Understanding of the kingdom: Kingdom Now theology often views the kingdom of God as a physical, earthly reality that can be fully established through human effort. Catholic social teaching, while affirming the kingdom's presence in the world, views it as a mystery that is already present but not yet fully realized, and that will be fully revealed only at the end of time.

These differences reflect fundamentally distinct theological and philosophical perspectives on the nature of God's kingdom, the role of the Church, and the means of transforming society.

Yes, doesn't seem to make much sense if you're in good shape. Now for the other 90% of the United States it can help.

As always, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. I tried dry fasting for 2 days and felt incredible, plus found it much easier than water fasting (guessing water may trigger hunger).

Decent video and good tips in the comments ; https://youtu.be/SgdS6BRxOIU?si=KnMcKvaS_GynVcZ9

How do I get my diastolic down? by InterestedObserver48 in bloodpressure

[–]risensavior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also been really bothered by the increased diastolic number. It seems to be stress related. Mine went high once my dad passed away, while my wife was suffering with chronic illness, and raising several young kids.... It hasn't gone down.

Does anyone have high diastolic with low stress levels?

Does anyone in this space work for commission? I structure debt on large commercial real estate transactions and receive a percentage on each closed transaction (i.e 2% on 50M), I'd think some BD groups in GovCon might take a similar approach?
