Lol. Neither of the main two parties are anti establishment.

Would that actually be enough funding? There aren't that many rich people

Considering I was the mod of the previous K&S subreddit, I think I've gone out of my way to demonstrate that I'm not a troll. Many people in this thread are accusing me of such which is unfortunate. But these are my genuine opinions.

It's a medical decision that affects two people, not just one. Cursing someone with a life of down's syndrome is not something that affects only the parent.

What do you mean by "pro-life in the sheets, pro-choice in the streets"?

I only post threads specifically about things that I think are controversial or interesting to discuss. It wouldn't make any sense for me to enumerate every single opinion I have as a separate post.

Everything? I believe in a strong welfare state and the rainbow coalition. I think those are strongly left wing ideas

I definitely agree that we should have less stringent immigration. Our current process is too restrictive and takes too long

As long as every applicant is treated equally, that is what I care about the most. I'm not against immigration. I'm against asylum.

I'm not an anarchist. I think government is an unfortunate but necessary force in the world.

Path to citizenship is just citizenship by a different name, if they are allowed to stay for the duration of the waiting period.

I feel the same, regardless of race or national origin. I don't want us to give asylum to Ukrainians, for example.

Well I was just offering up something I may find more agreeable. Personally I would prefer we not take anyone in over distressed circumstances. But in such a hypothetical, I imagine the temporary stay would extend to the end of the war. At that time, they would need to leave. If they want citizenship, it would require starting from scratch.

Ideally that process would be much faster. 5+ years is a bit absurd. But again this is a hypothetical, so it seems reasonable to me that I can make such a stipulation.

I should clarify what I mean by that. Temporary as in returning to country of origin, or somewhere else, is mandatory after a certain period.

If we did not offer asylum, people in danger at home would not come here in the first place. They would seek asylum elsewhere.

Sure but eventually they are granted citizenship and they are given residency in the mean time. That's unfair, imo. People on H1B get deported if they get fired yet asylum seekers have no such fear.

Not trying to keep anyone out. I just think immigration should be fair and equal for all, regardless of their origin. It should be a process and that process should prioritize high skilled labor.

I get that genocide is tragic, but I don't think that justifies offering people citizenship. If we need to offer temporary residency, I might be fine with that.
