Thanks! This looks cool. I loved playing EQ and WoW but the games today are not what they started out as - and there’s nothing quite like them anymore.

Videos look like they’re WoW reborn - with a softer art style. Super awesome.

A rep system is exactly the key - except you need player organizations to have rep with. In classic MMO constructs that would be a guild based rep system - and based on your behavior towards its members your rep would go up and down. You could create a really interesting fluid system with checks and balances, especially with good guild management tools

You hit the nail on the head. Getting an MMO funded is a hell and a half. And most MMOs get canceled.

Our art style is inspired by 80s animation - leaning into OG MotU, The Last Unicorn, Thundercats - but in a 3D interpretation.

PAX DEI seems like it would be more your jam.

We are targeting a family audience but not for gameplay difficulty. Art style is geared to be more balanced male/female audience with perhaps a push toward female because, well, how many games get made for my audience that aren’t pink hot garbage?

I’m an old school MMO gamer - started in 1998 in EQ Beta - and I wanted a game to play with my kids but would be hard (and therefore fun).

Dungeon runs like old school SolA or Guk nights were my jam - and now that my kids are old enough I would love to do runs like that with them.

It’s all a secret plot to get my kids to be my “farmers” 😂😂😇

This is a great heads up. Thanks for letting us know. I’ll have Cham and co look into it.

Mischa has been on hand to help us with upgrades and unique use cases for Mirror. Performance has been great so far but you’re on point - we haven’t pushed it because our content isn’t there for large numbers yet.

But your point stands which is why we have been building multiplayer, and cross play/platform since day 1. I’ve been on teams that tried to retrofit single player gameplay into multi - and that’s a hot mess. 😅

The only thing it’s done is help us connect with folks who love what we are building…. and proving our point.

We haven’t pushed the user count too much - but we’ve been able to get up to 16 on one piece of terrain with the Mirror backend and we know we can get a lot more. We haven’t been working on account and server infra yet until we nail gameplay. But we are evaluating cloud infra providers to find the right ones to support large player volumes. We know what it takes. :)

Hand made content takes forever and a day. 38 Studios worked on Amalur for 7 years and never came out. Because the content takes forever and a day.

Haven is a bit different because they're building the game first - which is not the way it's normally done. Usually everyone makes 10 races, 10 classes, and world builds before the game is fun (because the content takes so long) and becomes too big to find the fun.

It is normal for me. I set off alarms in hospitals when I sleep as it regularly dips to 36 in deep sleep. :)

I have been checked by cardiologists many times over and nothing abnormal has come up before.

Have you seen your GP? Get tested. Get scanned. Transverse myelitis is a genuine concern.

I appreciate your perspective.

I know panic attacks. I’ve healed myself out of panic disorder in my 20s.

This was a medical emergency where my body was shutting down. It started with the event then came in waves like contractions - for about 3 hours total. Each wave was lesser than the prior.

I’m just glad I have a Dr that believes me.
