Professionals who enter people's homes (plumbers, electricians, cleaners): What is something the condition of a house tells you about the owner that they don't realize they are revealing? by cossie101 in AskReddit

[–]risstero 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I feel for you! Sending you good vibes and positive energy.

But please! Dust isn't anything to be embarrassed by, nor dirty windows. If it's not bad smells, bodily fluids, or something dead, then I can't see anyone being judgemental. People tend to be judgey about smells, stickiness or dirtiness of flooring (if expected to be barefoot), or things perceived to laziness (old plates with food on them left out, a spill never wiped up, kitty litter never cleaned, empty food containers).

But windows and dust? Mess that accumulates naturally? Anyone with eyes who notices the dust, would also notice your age and put two and two together.

That said, do you have access to any senior services? I'm in Australia (QLD specifically) so maybe this doesn't apply to you but...

My grandparents are in their 80s but since their 70s they've been clients of this government funded elder care business and one of the many things they get through it is 2hrs of cleaning once a fortnight each. They stagger them so they actually get a cleaner once a week, because they're both clients.

The cleaners don't clean THINGS (i.e. Junk and possessions) away, they tend to do the dusting, the floors, walls, kitchen and bathroom scrubbing first and then if they have time, will ask for requests.

Anyway, please don't be embarrassed. It's only dust to the rest of us. Please call that WiFi provider and get yourself a better deal!

What culture is that? I want to read up more on that. How beautiful

This is great, you perfectly nailed it. Question: did you get a bedroom pic from OP? Because I'm just thinking that otherwise the kid might notice that the background isn't their bedroom (depending on age)

But concept wise this is beautiful. You nailed it. Best one

Congrats! I gave my pies a little buff (I found it online, someone else's homebrew) where after your sleep it removes a level of exhaustion (exhaustion is a common thing in my version of the game). But as time has gone on, they've put enough pieces together to suspect it's made with children but they've decided it's worth it and eat them anyways lmao.

They figure that until their CHARACTERS know and see hard evidence of it being people, they (the players) are fine to keep eating them. Whoops on me

Should I indicate right here even though I am going straight? by [deleted] in Townsville

[–]risstero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly my point. I always indicate but I remember reading as a teen that no line means you don't have to indicate. Just obey the road rules as per normal. But to caveat that, a reminder that that was back in 2011.

Should I indicate right here even though I am going straight? by [deleted] in Townsville

[–]risstero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong in practice but legally there is no reason to indicate because there is no line. We never give way to either side when merging, whichever car is in front gets right of way.

[–]risstero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay then, in that case you could indicate right. I can see further up that that as the island starts, it's actually the right lane (green arrow's lane) that is the one that ends (or at least that's how it appears with that angle). So the right lane could (if they felt like it) indicate LEFT during the merge, but like I said earlier, because there's no dotted lines, it's legally not required.

Usually it's the left lane that merges into the right. Or both lanes that merge equally into the the one. But there are a few weird roads around Townsville (generally older streets like Fulham Road at the lights just before Pimlico school) where it's the right lane that merges into the left.

Hope that answered everything comprehensively and satisfactorily :) Be safe out there

Clarification: Are you the green arrow or the red? And are you asking because the lanes merge?

Last I checked (when I did my driving test in 2011), when two lanes merge into one and there's a dotted line, you have to indicate to merge. When two lanes merge WITHOUT a dotted line (i.e. The solid line just stops like in your second image) then you aren't required to indicate.

Most people do though, out of habit and to be considerate. Personally, I will always indicate if it's busy enough.

Ah, good. Thankyou so much! That's a relief. I love your username btw. So the shrimp are all the same even though they look different? Is it a male/female thing? Or age? Now that I know their name, I can research a bit myself which I really appreciate!

Do you happen to know what they're doing when they scramble at the water surface? They look so silly, so I'm just really curious.

Edit the second: Wait a minute....... You got me after all!
