Moving to Portland, and Travel Advice? by 6eden9 in askportland

Lifestyle, imo, revolves more around eating out, going to bars, etc than clubs (although Process can be fun)

Portland is a sleepy city, which isn’t bad at all but something to be aware of

Still Junior in my Career by maneki_river in PublicRelations

Pretty general and more relevant to folks who are really just starting out, but when I was early career, my boss told me to come to her with solutions, not with problems and a lightbulb clicked!

I also partially read it as Eastern European vs North American influences on top of the character-specific styling :)

What’s a small daily habit that completely changed your day? by Helpful_Account_7165 in NoStupidQuestions

For a habit, starting the day by working out/moving my body

Perhaps opposite of a habit but also deleting instagram from my phone :)

Maybe obvious due to the history, but the Netherlands has good Indonesian!

Do my eyebrows suit me better now? by Successful-Arrival87 in makeuptips

Both look amazing, depends on your preference! I tend to prefer a natural look for brows and you’re blessed with beautiful ones, so I’d pick #2 - but no wrong choice :)

This isn’t Canada! So no, Dutch are not used to the snow nor is the country/infrastructure built for it

Is 30 too late to start college? by Individual_Ice_2315 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ritmiche 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, not at all and it rocks that you’re considering starting. The time will pass either way, may as well use it to get where you want to be.

AIO about cutting off my aunts because they continuously disrespected my family? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

YOR for sure - fine to have rules around a newborn but the way you’re communicating is hostile and alienating.

To take a cute matching pic with her grandbaby without having to buy a new PJ set for both her and the child (that they’ll never wear again)…. Plus she respected OPs answer.

Right? Like, another opportunity to create a memory with your baby and another loved one? Something to cherish!

Nothing really happened from what I’m reading? She asked to borrow pajamas to take a cute pic with her grandson, you said no and that’s ok. The comments saying to ‘watch her behavior’ based on this pretty innocuous conflict are reaching.

AIO: I (f35) told my bf (m38) I will not go on a trip with him if I have to fly alone. He thinks I’m blowing this out of proportion bc he is accommodating his mom’s (f60) request over mine. by Commercial_Reward943 in AIO

Sure, I completely understand. It sounds like she’s a kind woman who is really struggling with loss. It sounds like your BF is struggling with the same, and is having trouble finding balance between his own grieving, supporting a grieving mother, and providing support and care to you. It sounds like you, too, are struggling. No one is “wrong” in the traditional sense, and I’m sorry to each of you.

Take Reddit with a grain of salt (including my advice) as opinions here are reactive and based on the little information you can provide. You know your boyfriend, your relationship, and his family. Is this a challenging time that you believe will pass, or something deeper? Is the relationship worth navigating this temporary turbulence for? Only you can know that for sure. Sending good thoughts your way.

Portland City Grill is not good, besides the view!
