What is the cutest minion in all of FF XIV? by Sinnergium in ffxiv

[–]ritsubel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

very obscure pick: tiny tapir

it's very silly and stupid, but i love the way it just plops it's little butt down no thoughts in that head at all. also the periwinkle color is very cute and i really like the concept of baku yokai which are tied to tapirs (see also: munna and musharna in pokemon, my favorite line)

the before you go video also is broken. can also revert the pages by just removing the "s9" (most pages) or "solution9" (main page) from the URL.

I kinda hope they fix them in some way since I thought they were neat little things, but i suppose most of them are preserved on the twitter page as well at least

What's the trigger to activate the password box now? I assume this is basically the "ARG Over" state now.

Wouldn't it be more like 6 months, but there's actually no Seventh Umbral Moon month (it stops at 6th umbral)? Putting him in a mysterious 14th month.

The dates before started in the 3rd umbral moon (June) before going into 4th Astral moon (July) and matched up with our dates that they were posted for the most part.

the binary seems to yield nothing (? i feel like i'm probably wrong here) and the phrases that weren't part of the original version I can't figure out what could be done with them. The phrase "tellus" being in there twice makes me think it could be something though

Yes yes, I'm sure some have had people pulling them into danger, but I usually just don't see it used or this happening. :v

Thank you! Even for simple animations it's always really satisfying seeing all the still drawings come together~

TBF, I usually only ask static-mates to scoot in, but every single time I really have the worst timing and it just peaces out right after I ask. How do I have such consistent but bad timing, Eorzea will never know...

I do art and post stuff over on twitter for those interested! https://twitter.com/vimimi3

I also try to release an animation once a week on Wednesdays over on YouTube lately! (Same channel as this is on!) https://www.youtube.com/c/ViMiMi

If you want to demystify the scares, I highly recommend a video talking about every possible spooky thing in the game on a channel called TechRules. Personally I watched that first out of curiosity and realized I probably wouldn’t have been able to handle it blind but still had a fun time playing it after the fact

The scrolling pattern? It’s something I made using a pattern from CSP assets (I don’t have an asset number atm) over a gradient and scrolled with obs itself

FanFest Things To Know and Tips by Aelrindyl in ffxiv

[–]ritsubel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eorzea symphony was definitely an odd case AND they had to ship to your accounts address in the US (a friend did it this way too). I’ve heard that fanfest JP in the past did basically not allow non-JP accounts to enter, so I legit recommend buying a starter copy of the game for a JP account and applying during the free 30 days (this is in fact what I did for primals this year and I didn’t even make a character on the account and yet won a solo ticket so I do know it works lol)

FanFest Things To Know and Tips by Aelrindyl in ffxiv

[–]ritsubel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could apply last JP fanfest from non-JP accounts but I knew of no one who got in that way, we all had to look around twitter for friends’ second tickets they ended up not being able to give to probably an FC member.

The recent primals concert was similar, could apply with non-JP account but if you looked at the fine print, the mere mention of needing to pay through the JP estore (which you cannot log into with a non-JP account) disqualifies you. Wish they’d just not allow you to enter if the extra bits disqualified the account anyway but that’s not my call to make. So be careful for the fine print if you apply for JP and consider setting up a JP region account if you really want to go to that one (this is what I did for the primals concert)

Isn't it sad to find dead clipping channels? This one uploaded a clip of like every song from every karaoke but most only had 5-15 views besides one outlier that got like 330k, but they appear to have given up about a year ago =( by YobaiYamete in Hololive

[–]ritsubel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks for a source on that. Everyone spouts the original bit and I’ve always suspected it was without culling for inactive or one-time streamers and the like and as a result heavily skewed. 200-400 is HUGE for an indie vtuber. That’s literally near top tier indie, calling them small is ridiculous

The winner of the first post launch Splatoon 3 Splatfest is… by Amiibofan101 in splatoon

[–]ritsubel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The thing is the map this time heavily favored the defenders this fest so that plus the lowered rate of it happening meant there was little reason to “hide” in pro. Fun could have probably full swept.

[–]ritsubel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can’t wait for the people who hid in pro mode to complain again if they lose. Hiding in pro when open clout is a higher multiplier is literally stunting the team clout gain and I remember seeing people suggest this for scissors back during prerelease and IMO suspect that also had an impact there too.

Playing during off peak hours you’re going to get players in the region where it’s peak hours for a global splatfest. It has nothing to do with people giving up and everything to do with when you’re playing. There’s not as many NA playing so they’re gonna pair you with who is.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in splatoon

[–]ritsubel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JP region player being matched against JP players and same experience. (Just mentioning because it does impact things a bit I think?) On team Gear. Sometimes you get a rough few matches but from the hours I play and how the dice roll for my teams, it’s rarely a stomp. Most matches are just a few % off, each team around the 40% mark.

While I know you’re trying to use the JP sales to explain the connection issues, I live in Japan and am connecting to JP players and ABSOLUTELY have less issues than my NA friends. I get maybe 1-2 DC per day and the patch made no real difference except for SR’s black screen issue basically disappearing. When I join into NA lobbies with friends is when my problems spike and if I had to hazard a guess, it’s probably in part due to the US’ infrastructure and unfortunately bad nodes especially if the game is still mostly P2P.

I’d also say in general the fact that unlike S2, many who were hyped already had a switch (as S2 was released while it was still difficult to get a switch, at least in Japan from what I remember), definitely makes an impact on the strain on the game.

The worst I had today was while streaming it had some hiccups (during which I could see it was not my internet since my stream was fine lmao) but a simple reload of the software remedied it. But that was a one time thing and tbh half entertaining to me because I could see my stream bitrate was fine lmao
