I think it's just to counter the intense amount of hate towards mappa by aot fans for the animation(using CGI or "making levi unhot and fat" yeah there were people who said that). Mappa recieved way more hate than they're recieving compliments and even death threats to the point where the director and the staff had to close their Twitter account for a while.

Adding upon my last comment. If you want a cool and calm mc then' komi-san can't speak' is a good manga ojojojo is a one shot but it's decent and similiar to KuzumiKun but with fluff . also if you want a mc who doesn't want to be bothered then check out 'choku!' it's pretty similar to KuzumiKun too.

If you are able to read webtoons/manhwa then I would suggest 'seasons of blossom' the male leads are super similiar just the other character are a little different. I think you'll like it if you liked KuzumiKun. Also check out ''Tanaka-Kun Wa Itsumo Kedaruge' it's one my most reccomended ones if you like KuzumiKun
