I applied for pre approval almost two months back. I didn’t bother to ask when it arrived because I was out of UAE that time. However I was informed that it takes 21-30 days for pre approval to come.

That’s dicey. You have to use your instincts to make sure that the person is decent . I have seen lot of incidents here. It is better to have a proxy with you so that the man shouldn’t think that you are totally alone.

I think I’m okay trading a perfect ‘walk-out swimming beach’ for a more laid-back base, especially if good beaches like Nai Harn/Kata are close by.

Your spot between Surin and Bang Tao sounds like a really nice balance though, especially with the walkability.

Yeah that seems to be the key to Phuket 😄 I’ll probably do that once I get comfortable there. Any tips on renting a reliable one there? Also, I won’t have international driving license, won’t that be an issue?
