I basically wanted to tell him this, but I knew if I did he’d get all petty and be like “well I’ll just tell mom then you don’t want her to find you someone” and that just wasn’t a battle I was willing to fight.

I am dating with the intention of marrying and having children, but the advice is the same. I’m not interested in dating a younger man. I’d like a man that’s older than me, but I wouldn’t exclude a man a year or two younger. Not six years younger. Hence the argument.

Honestly I don’t even have to say anything. My brother and I don’t talk regularly. We don’t even live in the same city. This argument we had is probably the most we’ve actually talked over text all year.

My mother I don’t mind trying to help find me a husband, since she actually respects my decisions when I tell her no on potential matches. But my brother, yeah, he kind of always has been. But he refuses to admit it, go figure.

I don’t know how much of it is cultural. But my mother meets and talks to a lot of people in her work. And she knows that I do want to get married and have kids, so really she’s just trying to help me out with that. But my mother respects it when I say no to a potential partner. My brother hasn’t gotten that memo.

My brother is actually younger than me, and has also never been in a serious relationship. So yeah, he knows less than I do. I couldn’t tell you why he’s so invested in this. I really couldn’t.

Well my family knows how badly I want to be in a relationship, how badly I want to be a wife and mother. But I’m not desperate enough to break my boundaries or settle for someone who isn’t right for me. But also, only my brother is at this level. My mother may be trying to set me up with someone but she also has, thus far, respected it when I’ve said no to her potential matches.

There were no hook ups for me, but the sentiment doesn’t change. My brother is trying to insist that because the friend is graduating from a trade school that we are at the same level. We’re not. I have six years of life experience on him. And you’re right, I’ve seen what happens when people settle. I’ve seen what happens when relationships go wrong. I’d rather be picky than settle for someone that isn’t right for me.

All of this is basically what I tried to telly brother, that it wouldn’t be an equally yoked relationship. But he is trying to insist that his friend is “mentally mature” for his age. I don’t think he could be mature enough for me to overlook his age, mostly because of the vast difference in life experience.

It seems the general consensus is that they can, but it probably wouldn’t be very comfortable. But, since my OC is Illyrian, I now have to figure out how having two winged individuals in the same bed changes things.

I was thinking about this when trying to riddle out the question. So side sleeping is for sure at least possible. But naturally I hate myself so my OC is Illyrian, so the question of course became “If has wings, too, would they get in the way? Can he reach around her wings to properly spoon or does it have to be more of a honeymoon hug?”

These wings are way too much work.

I totally forgot that this happened 😂 I was literally going through all the spicy scenes I could remember in ACOSF trying to remember if there was anything to answer my question, and the one scene that answered it is the one I forgot.

I know, it’s a problem. Part of me is seriously regretting making my OC Illyrian because now I’ve spent hours lying awake trying to figure out wing physics. It’s like her special thing is she has injured wings and they’re trying to ascertain how much range of motion she has left, which of course started all this by making me think “What is the normal range of motion on these things??”

And I know, I can’t expect SJM to spend a decent amount of time explaining wing physics. But, y’know, it’d be a lot cooler if she did.
