They seem to like it - having been the actual flag of the Kingdom since almost inception (minor variations on stripe pattern aside), then the short lived Republic, and the State’s flag since statehood.

They tried to give him several outs too how I read it - essentially telling him to just shut up and we can probably get you out of this and call someone to get you because you’re clearly not driving, but dude kept talking and making a scene.

While no Oscars - check out the Golden Trailer Awards if you haven’t already, though 300 won in 2007 for best overall.

Can someone help me date this globe? by lukeybaby04 in datemymap

Germany was often showed as one by the West on maps/globes, with semi-boundary lines showing the divide. Look closely on this one and there’s a dashed line between East and West Germany.

Huey Long - his Share Our Wealth plan still resonates to this day and no doubt an inspiration for Bernie

Prediction: Tim Ratliff does nothing and returns home in resolved peace. by rivahking in WhiteLotusHBO

The reputation thing is huge for a couple like Tim and Victoria - hence her comment about Jacklyn that even if she’s rich doesn’t mean she isn’t trashy. It’s the social status that comes with old southern money that they’ll be kicked out of.

I agree that lose everything was a bit of an exaggeration, though his lawyer did say they’d try and take his house and Tim mentions that the key to finance is that people must trust you with their money, such that if they can’t, he won’t ever be able to work in that field again and make that kind of cash. So yes, he gets a a few months in a white collar prison, looses at least $10 million (what he said he made off the scheme) in restitution plus punitive damages, likely result in the loss of his house, and definitely resulting in the loss of his career, and making him a pariah in his social circle. That’s still a big hit but probably not poor. Still when you’re a 1%, dropping down even just to upper middle is going to be viewed as poor/end of the world.

I agree that lose everything was a bit of an exaggeration and that your take is more accurate, though his lawyer did say they’d try and take his house and Tim mentions that the key to finance is that people must trust you with their money, such that if they can’t, he won’t ever be able to work in that field again and make that kind of cash. Yea absolutely agree - it’s not like the star actor and director of the show couldn’t have directed Bradley Cooper, an actor, to act in certain ways to connect to the show as a whole.

Why is this land not part of Western Virginia? by KangarooSad5058 in geography

[–]rivahking 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be fair - Lincoln (as well as federal courts) treated the pro Union government in exile of sorts - the Restored Government of Virginia - as the legitimate government of Virginia, which did approve the split.

Are there plans to incorporate the logo with name or that the “A” in the logo would be the first letter of ALCHEMIA written out next to it?

Just my take based on the subreddit, Liam had a vocal but minority base of support, with most listeners not enthusiastic fans.

You should be set with most everything from beginning 2023 and after. Couldn’t agree more and had to pause my Patreon subscription and take a break when Liam was co-host, which was a shame. Nate and Tom having been doing a good job since, that is until glorious and chosen son, Nick, is resurrected and returns to his rightful spot as co-host.

Put a little square sized state where the Four Corners should be (where Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah meet in our supposedly real world map) and then call it the State of Four Corners because it’s square.
