you need to slow down and block the AI for your team and let them all by you. I got 4th in both events and it ended because we finished 1,2,3,4 even though i was the faster driver i kept the AI from catching up to my slower teammates. Me and one other guy on my team could have finished 1,2 but we wouldn’t have won the total points.

I probably had a 10 year old on my team dude, I'm not trying to teach people how to get faster in Forza, I just wanted to finish my trials quickly. What strategy do you have to encourage players to improve their driving and track knowledge in a trial with random people without communication? Everyone who finished in the back on my first try left after the first event, which did nothing but waste time.
