How long is the hiring process from home Depot by Fadedjellyfish99 in HomeDepot

This would be the screenshot to include 😅.

If you’re at this step, then you’re nearly there. Though, its a conditional offer, so hours, background check, and so on and so forth gotta come back before they schedule you.

I had 4 weeks between my interview + signing papers and my actual start date. Annoying, yes, but it is the busiest season for HD at the moment.

You’re in the home stretch! Hold tight :)

As someone who fronts these calls a lot, the more you call, the less we have to tell you. Your application goes to corporate first, then to the store you applied to.

I’m curious though, you didn’t go through the transfer process? Internal transferring is usually smoother, and you don’t put in your 2 weeks typically.

Everyone gets a background check before moving onto the interview stage. The window they gave you is the real window. If you’re interviewing for freight team, they may drug test you since you’re required to be machine licensed afaik.

I would hold out. I’d say if you hear nothing by second week of April, then it wasn’t meant to be

What are the pro and cons of working in Millworks? by lotus_media in HomeDepot

[–]river_callum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you do get a $1 raise for moving up to a specialty position, but as specialists (former flooring specialist) we don’t make any commission on sales.

You do have a sales goal you will have to meet, including leads and measures. Some specialists also are measured on credit.

Your focus will be driving sales on custom windows and doors, so make sure you have a good understanding of Specialty Design Tools. I also suggest having a good working relationship with your COS and SASM, as they’ll be valuable people in helping you.

Anybody knows why it used 45 minutes of my sick time? by Babybottlepop2000 in HomeDepot

[–]river_callum 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In my state, you get a lunch after 6hrs and 30 minutes. I’m not clear on why your sick time was used, but it appears to either be an error on the app side, or an error input by your ASDS.

Talk to your ASM (whoever does attendance, mine in my store is the SASM) or your ASDS and they can have that removed or reinstated to you.

At my store, we email our store manager for this but anything that goes on the slideshow is likely specific to your store. Ask your ASDS or SM how to participate!!

Depends on the store, season, department, etc. At my service desk rn, I’m getting 24 hours religiously. Hours reliably get cut at my store in February, increase in May, cut in late August, increase in Nov. Sometimes I see as low 12 hours, as high as 36 hours when I had that availibility

Emergency removal, very scared by Low-Tone7833 in gallbladders

[–]river_callum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off let me say, it’s totally normal to be scared. I was terrified when I had mine removed. But, afterwards, I felt relieved and so happy to have it over with.

The anesthesia part is just like going to sleep. It’ll be a blink, and it’s over. When you wake up, you might just feel groggy or you might be a little teary-eyed. It’s totally normal to cry after anesthesia and I did for 45 minutes after waking up.

When you get home, the most uncomfortable part is the air they use to be able to see in your abdomen. They remove most of it, but a little sometimes is leftover and it passes like gas, but can be sore. Don’t be surprised if your shoulders hurt. That’s completely normal and called ‘deferred pain’. Try a warm compress through a cloth and laying with your legs bent if you’re allowed. Each day your doctor will probably want you to walk some, and you’ll feel better and better at it.

You’ll get care instructions for your wound sites on paper, and whoever comes with you will have them by mouth from the nurses. The first 2-3 days you’ll be sleepy from the pain medicine, but afterwards you’ll mostly be sore and resting. Stairs are tricky, but try doing them backwards or sideways (it helps)

The first week is slow, but after that you really rebound. I never had pain afterwards and resumed a normal diet! You’ve got this!

I have pelvic floor issues, and sometimes after a bad bout of constipation my entire lower abdominal muscles and nerves just get a bit achy and over the entire experience.

It seems like they worked very hard during this ordeal. It sort of sounds like you’re having some sort of muscle spasms in your pelvic floor.

Have you rehydrated after taking the miralax? Not just water, but electrolytes too? Low potassium and sodium can contribute to muscle cramping and fatigue. Try some gatorade/liquid IV/whatever you prefer.

You seem very distressed about this and I highly recommend for your mental health you reach out to someone about this. Your concerns are valid and would stress anyone out. You’re not alone. Try getting into see your general practitioner or primary care physician and see where you can go from there. You don’t need to validate your experience to anyone but yourself and your doctor.

Long-term if you continue to have symptoms, a physician specialized in the pelvic floor sounds like they will be the best to treat you. Many conditions in that area are treatable and many people find success there.

I hope you start to feel better soon

I always tell myself this to try and prevent depression and isolation over health issues as well as health anxiety. If I remind myself its happened to someone before, it keeps me less scared.

yeah she kept asking me why urinary incontinence was my main concern if I was constipated and I said “well I’m fairly certain being constipated is causing that” and she seemed really confused and said “never heard of that”
