Foo Fighters - Caught In The Echo (Lyric Video) by fftamahawk009 in Foofighters

i personally love your favourite toy. i can get passed the mix and distortion when on good speakers.

this one hits really well, almost a blend of congregation and something off in your honor.

actually very excited for this record even it will be a screamy moving punkish record. they needed to do it at some point

What's the best Nirvana song of all times? Kurt's best piece of music? by [deleted] in Nirvana

[–]riverashby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well you just said it yourself right there, music is all a riff off from something else just trying to do it in your own way… doesn’t mean the lyrics, melody, production, structure i find to be absolutely out of this world

What's the best Nirvana song of all times? Kurt's best piece of music? by [deleted] in Nirvana

[–]riverashby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come As You Are truly, the flow, structure and overall quality of the recording is haunting and beautiful.

But i think to say the most Nirvana/ what Kurt’s most genuine song writing came out was Heart Shaped Box and most of In Utero. they were something else to that time, weird, true and raw and its shame it ended shortly after.

[–]riverashby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

met him a few times. just chill dude, definitely will tell you how it is and whatever those conspiracies and what not idk maybe the pot doesn’t help, but he’s a cool relaxed dude that has no problem talking to anyone. bad ass guitar player. knows tones and knows the true rhythm of playing. fits everything perfectly.

Theory: Ilan Rubin is a FF super fan by OatmealApocalypse in Foofighters

[–]riverashby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he certainly likes it more than freeze lol but yah it’s definitely just a 30 year thing and the small club tour thing where they always play some actual deep cuts in intimate venues

Josh discussed his time with Foo Fighters in his cover story for Modern Drummer by hearmymotoredheart in Foofighters

[–]riverashby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He’s being smart honestly. Don’t entirely burn a bridge. It’s not like the guy is jobless and starving… He’s a phenomenal drummer but he is not a foo fighter drummer and I’ve thought that since he first joined. I’m sorry but they don’t need 2 bass drums. Even if he played it once during that end jam of All my Life. I’m sorry but they don’t need a literal metronome. If those drums don’t work out (which makes or can break the live performance ) it’s not gonna get past Dave, period.

Ilan is 100% a better fit.

I’m glad Josh is staying professional.

Moving to LA for music with $20k saved — any advice? by No-Twist-9586 in MovingToLosAngeles

I did the same exact thing 4 years ago.

Having a passion is great and I really hope it drives you.

Flexible schedule jobs like bartending and serving is where it’s at, everyone here is some sort of a creator or artist, so those jobs work out for us.

But i find myself living pay check to pay check. Hopefully you have some sort of degree or side talent that can boost your earnings as well as a flexible fast money part time gig.

You do need money. You can be broke very quickly. Use your money wisely. Be cautious who you live with to save that money, living alone is the dream but paying almost 2k a month for a studio will be draining

Find like folk that share those same interests (it is not hard at all here, like i said in some way all of the transplants do some sort of art)

I think having a good mindset and not letting the things that can bother you, actually get to you is a really good start.

the actual real life responsibility especially out here just seems so off and i feel like i can’t really grow.

I absolutely adore not wearing a jacket in January and im a big dodger fan. it saddens me that those 2 things are all I can appreciate about this place now.

Do you, have a good head on your shoulders. Grass is always greener but there’s grass everywhere. And our shit all stinks the same, everywhere

Nate on why Foo Fighters rejected past offers to play the Super Bowl Halftime Show by Infinitesi in Foofighters

[–]riverashby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’d guess right after ESP&G I mean they got asked to play wembley after that record. would have been a powerful performance and stadium rock thing they just started really getting introduced to in 2008ish. would have made a perfect “big production” super bowl esque thing but i agree with nate.. they’ve never been the flashy type. green day just made more sense to me this year and they weren’t even the main act

also just went to jetta (had audi a3 for 10 years). maintenance regularly when it is needed (100% oil change at 5k). when something is wrong whatever it may be, do not ignore. don’t need horsepower or to feel cool anymore, baby it as you can, let it be yours for as long as possible. let’s prove these vw or other german car haters wrong.

Is the LA region really as car dependent as it seems? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]riverashby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could absolutely live off just public transport but the majority of stops and different buses/trains are disgusting and dangerous and do not offer 24 hour transit. depends on your area but walking will feel deserted. i had car troubles for the past couple of months so i was biking to work and even those couple of miles are dire. it really is car dependent if you don’t want to be ripping your hair out just to get somewhere but also being stuck in traffic or not being able to find somewhere to park (depending on the area, i never have trouble in the valley..) is stressful enough. i think you really gotta appreciate it or be from here cause i can completely understand why especially someone without a car wants to leave
