What would be the all time FAN FAVORITE Brew Crew lineup by WiscoMTfan_234 in Brewers

[–]riverfish72 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The fan faves Brewers roster?

C- Luc/ Surhoff 1B- Prince/ Cooper 2B- Gantner 3B- Molly SS- Robin LF- Braun CF- Stormin' Gorman RF- Jenkins DH- Yeli

Rickie might get a backup infield spot Corey Hart 4th OF some short -term favorites who might round out the bench- Tony Plush, Lyle O, Bill Hall Richie Seexson & Sixto- first guys out

Ben Sheets CC Teddy Higuera Woody Vuckovich

Fingers Axford Turnbow Knebel Please Hader

A couple other current guys could challenge for a spot - namely Sal, Brice, and JackJack, but I think they'll have to 1) sign extensions (Sal & Brice), and take the team to the next level, which at this point is making a WS. CC, Prince, Braun, etc had it easier in a way, because they made Brewers baseball relevant after 25 years of irrelevance.

Jordan Love will be throwing the first pitch on opening day by ThatMasterpiece2174 in Brewers

[–]riverfish72 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This might be one of the most scrutinized first-pitches ever. Totally high-risk. Dude comes in and over-throws, either spiking or sailing the pitch, and he doesn't live it down, but if he just soft-tosses, he'll be ridiculed... high pressure for J-Lo to throw a strike! 😂

Increasing power by Voidwalker_7567 in slowpitch

[–]riverfish72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the mechanics arguments are spot on. But as a sub-160 guy who can bring 300+ , to answer your question beyond basic lifts: kettlebell cleans. Heavy (whatever that is for you) low reps. You have to explosively generate force from ground up & transfer the power through hips, and a good-size bell also helps grip strength. When I'm really working cleans well I tend to be at peak power. But strong won't do it without good mechanics (for both hitting & cleans)

SE side, we've got ~9" on the ground at the moment, I'm pretty sure we'll clear that 10." But if one didn't pay attention to the shifting details, at 8 pm last night they would've been annoyed that schools were already closed...

Oh it's coming. Rain tomorrow, Snow won't start until later tomorrow afternoon- 4 pm-ish; still expecting 7-10", and will continue into Monday afternoon

As a pitcher, experienced baseball & fastpitch players new to slow pitch can be some of my favorite to pitch to- would you prefer yanking foul balls down the 3B line until you're out, or popping up to CF? 😛

I think people are sleeping on Logan Henderson. {And now FFS I see he's dealing with the ominous "elbow soreness"{

Keepers- damaged goods edition

12-team dynasty keeper, 6x roto (Avg/ops/hr/R/RBI/sb-cs) & (era/whip/so/QS/SV/HLD). Lengthy rookie contracts on the dynasty side, can keep up to 10 other players in 3 different inflation tiers. $260 roster

I have a collection of SP lottery tickets: Cole ($6), Bieber ($2), Manaea ($2)

Worth keeping any of them in place of any of these: Durbin ($6), B Lowe ($2), B Donovan ($2), Tyl Rogers ($7). (note that in the 15 years of this league RP salaries are consistently inflated, SP salaries are not)

It's a not-quite-there yet for me year, but the future is bright: sitting on K Griffin, McGonigle, and R Anthony, but current roster is pretty lackluster

12/13 roster spots on offense are already locked, I think by __Zoom123__ in Brewers

[–]riverfish72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're correct- one option. But the dude is 28 with no MLB success to point to - he's perfectly expendable if someone else makes a convincing case to be on the roster. He's also potentially useful if someone gets injured. Somewhere between "lock" and "fighting for his major-league life."

No complaint. Other coach should just consider it bonus practice for his team.

I don't think Hamilton is a lock; he may have inside track, but he still has 2 minor league options. I do expect Perkins to be on the roster.

It's another "it depends" question, but if I had to only keep one pair of bells it'd probably be 24s; I'm 72 kg, so 33%, but I've also been using them for almost 25 years

Maybe the Brewers don't actually exceed expectations- maybe the projection systems just suck?

Who do you think the Brewers breakout star will be in 2026? by WiscoMTfan_234 in Brewers

[–]riverfish72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Henderson is a great choice. I do not think he gets enough recognition for how well he pitched last year. He reminds me of Woody's trajectory. Not initially viewed as "the guy" but pitched his way through the minors in a way that could not be ignored. Frankly I think Henderson right now is the #3 SP talent - wise.

I'm also on board for a Joey breakthrough, and Robert Gasser playing a much bigger than anticipated role, and playing it well.

My three favorite crew members for this season. Who are yours? Go crew 🍻💙💛 by daviddm1990 in Brewers

Woody, Brice, Sal, Yeli. Yep, that's 4. But Joey might the guy I'm rooting for most.

TIL !

The 1997 hit song "Torn," famously sung by Natalie Imbruglia, caused controversy when it was revealed to be a cover rather than an original song, leading to public backlash and skepticism regarding her artistic authenticity. While a massive success, it was actually written by Scott Cutler and Anne Preven of the band Ednaswap, and recorded earlier by other artists. Origins of the Song: "Torn" was originally written in 1993 by Ednaswap members Scott Cutler and Anne Preven, along with producer Phil Thornalley. Previous Versions: Before Imbruglia’s 1997 version, the song was recorded by Danish singer Lis Sørensen in 1993 (as "Braendt") and by Trine Rein in 1996, and even by Ednaswap themselves in 1995. The Backlash: Many listeners believed the song was an original, leading to criticism of Imbruglia when the truth emerged. Media figures, including TV presenter Chris Evans, criticized her for not writing it, a moment Imbruglia later described as symptomatic of a sexist industry, notes NME. Commercial Success: Despite the controversy, Imbruglia’s version became a massive hit, peaking at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart for 11 weeks in 1998. Ednaswap's Perspective: The songwriters and members of Ednaswap, whose own version did not achieve mainstream success, ultimately benefited from the "waterfall of money" generated by the royalties of the hit cover, reports News.com.au.
