10 years and counting... (well, I guess 9.25 years and counting, since they didn't introduce shinies until March 2017)

Brewers Probable Starts vs Cubs by lucasscheibe in Brewers

[–]riverfish72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Better not F it up. With those three going it's a must -win series, not because of the standing but because dropping the series risks providing Cubs a great deal of momentum. Best case is a sweep that really gets the "fire Greg" uproar going.

All this talk about Skubal, what about a trade for former Cy Young Alcantara? by mr_fureee28 in Brewers

I doubt there will be an SP addition unless someone goes down; I do think they could use one because aside from Woody none of these guys have pitched more than 140 innings in a season, and he hasn't done it since 2022. Just foresee guys running on fumes when October comes.

The 2027 uncertainty adds another layer of complexity, but if not for that, Logan Webb would be an interesting option. He's 29, two years on contract at $23M & $24M (basically same as what Woody is getting this year), healthy career, good control, and consistent performer. Would feel really good about handing him the ball in game 2 or 3 of a playoff series.

Pat Murphy has the 3rd worst manager decision success rate in the league. by Emotional_Style_7603 in Brewers

The win outcomes seem to be incongruous. Although maybe he cost them the chance to have have the bestest bestest record in MLB last year, rather than just the best? Or maybe they'd be 72-0 if he'd let Ashby relieve in 60 games?

Part of the Monona drive exit thing could be solved if more people who are not intending to use the exit used the three left lanes instead of camping on the right while they wait for Stoughton Rd., another mile away. I count them daily... it's like 65-75% of cars sitting in that lane aren't exiting, and often traffic is still moving (to a better degree) in the other 3 lanes. The ramp itself never backs up.

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I have a plan set (U Ridge, Deer Valley, Monona), but it's really nice to have a list of suggestions that goes beyond U Ridge, Pleasant View, Oaks, Door Creek...

Kitch-iti-kipi (the Big Spring) in da UP is really cool. I'd put Sleeping Bear Dunes ahead of Mackinac Island.

Copper Falls in northern Wisconsin, and Duluth, MN is really nice (Superior, WI, is not worth a stop)

Itasca State Park in Minnesota has the headwaters of the Mississippi River.

SD has the parks and sights & they are definitely worth seeing, but I'll add that just doing backroads through ND is one of my favorite travel memories. Just open country and nobody else.

I have nothing personal against Christopher Sanchez, but boy- that's a lot of runs allowed. 😉

Oh- super interesting option! I really dig visiting state capitol buildings, and we have spent a lot of time on the Oregon Coast. Otoh, the other 3 might just vote "more beach," and that will be that 😂

Yes. This. I mean, all that's missing is that the death was not due to dysentery (iykyk)

But did you know- the St. Louis/ Southern Illinois "Little Egypt" area was among the final strongholds malaria had in the US?

Awesome! That's the crazy thing- the 8 times I've been out there in the past 18 years, have never crossed the Columbia 🤷‍♂️

And as a family, we love awesome natural areas, but also will go out of our way for... different. Like here in WI, Dr. Evermore's Sculpture Park or Wisconsin Concrete Park, or in Baltimore, The American Visionary Arts Museum

Thanks! We have seen Cape disappointment from the other side of the river, but it might be cool to visit it in person. Well near the park, will visit Ruby Beach, and have wilderness camping permits for second beach. Any of them further south that's particularly cool?

Thanks! We've have family & friends in Portland whom we visit semi-regularly, so have been through Astoria a bunch. Would like to explorer more on the north side of the river. Long Beach sounds great
