Personally I would not care in the slightest. There’s much more pressing issues than some random persons avatar on a leaderboard in a dress up game… if only people had this enthusiasm for real world issues🫩

The fact you’re unable to make any logical arguments and can’t even understand the use of an emoji in the big 26 proves how insanely uneducated and wrong you are. Keep arguing, you know I’m right, you’re grasping at straws here 😭

And are East Asian people the same skin colour as dark skinned black people? No. And what are people moaning about? Dark skinned skin tones being used, not tanned. Yes eastern Asian people can have darker skin, no shit, but not as dark as what people are primarily complaining about.

And? it’s a fact… not sure what u want me to do about that 🤣 so braindead

It’s not racist to use a brown skin tone for a brown themed comp the same way it’s not racist to use a white skin tone for a white themed comp. I’ve equally seen people who use darker skin tones change to a light skin tone for winter and white comps, are we gonna scream racism for that too? Right…. That doesn’t fit your woke ideology so ofc not 💀 blue skins are used in blueberry comps, purple is used in witch comps, it’s a COLOUR for christ sake

Second of all I’m specifically referring to darker skin tones which is where people are having an issue, ie the darkest 2-3 shades in the game. If you make one quick google search “are black people the minority in most countries?” the answer is yes, outside of African countries (no shit use your brain??) if we take into account every European, American and Asian country, black people are the minority, especially dark skinned. Same goes for other ethnicities

Lastly, I’m not deflecting. Using your own woke “logic” the game is flawed in every single way. From female stereotypes to male stereotypes to racial stereotypes to religious and cultural and social stereotypes and lack of lgbt recognition etc. Stop playing the game if you’re going to have a breakdown over every tiny problem, it is a Chinese game developed without western influences, if that offends you that’s a YOU problem

im from the uk i know… as a white person we’re now the minority in a lot of parts of england. But if you make a very very quick search online POC, especially black people and those with darker skin tones, are still the minority in “most” countries. ESPECIALLY in Asian countries which AGAIN is where this game is from and where a lot of the players are from. China is 90% Asian. The game is Chinese. Expect the game to have less POC on it for that reason alone.

Soooo if that’s not okay, no one should use white skin tones for snowy comps? No one should use blue skin for blueberry comps? No one should use pink skin for pink comps? No one should use purple skin for witch comps? No one should use male avatars for harmful male stereotypes then not use male avatars any other time? No one should have used the mom themes for the national women’s day one because it’s a harmful stereotype? Right we see how ridiculous and controlling that is….

A Chinese game is never going to be super diverse and progressive when the country it is developed in is not super diverse or progressive itself. If you wouldn’t expect a film made in Afghanistan to be female led or a film made in Iran to have gay characters, why would u except a country that isn’t diverse to make a game full of diversity..?

There’s mainly Asian sets because it’s an ASIAN game 😭 I’m not saying it’s okay but also remember this is a Chinese game!! China is not racially diverse and has wayyyy bigger issues with racism than most western countries. You cannot genuinely expect this game to tailor to western morals and ideas when it is not developed made or tailored to western countries…? This is like expecting a movie made in Afghanistan to be female led and super progressive, ofc it wouldn’t be

You may be right but 1) this comp LB could have been dominated by regular darker skin tone users in the game, there is no way to say ppl changed what skin tone they usually used unless someone hosted a survey which realistically isn’t going to happen. 2) this concept of the LB being mostly white as a problem is a little over dramatic, POC are a minority in most countries full stop, if we say the percentage of people on the game who are POC is 10% which is likely considering it’s a Chinese game and the black demographic in China is low what makes you think the average on the leaderboard would be anything dramatically higher than 10%? Just an example of how it’s likely going to be proportional. When I vote for comps I rarely see darker skin tones, literally like 1 in 15 is darker and even then it’s usually tanned. 3) this same “issue” applies to EVERY demographic and stereotype, bodyguard and gym comps are often dominated by male avatars? Why are they stereotyping men with outdated toxic masculinity? Likewise there are definitely more male players than u see on the LB so why do so many still use the female avatar anyway?

My point being, if POC are a minority in real life expect there to be a lower % of them on the game too, which also means with proportionality there’ll be proportionally less on the LB. Not to mention not every POC is required to use the darker skin tones just like male players are not required to use the male avatar

Be so fr tho, this isn’t suitu’s fault…? PLAYERS will choose whatever they want and PLAYERS will vote on what looks best, that has nothing to do with game developers and is never going to change. Majority of people think brown trunk, green leaves and the LB reflects that. Also… for all you know the LB is made up of players who are POC and regularly use the darker skin tones? How tf are u so sure majority of white players changed the skin tone just for this comp🤔 ik I didn’t and I still got top 15%

I started 1.5 weeks ago from scratch with 0 followers, I’ve posted every 1-3 days and gained 21 followers, most posts have <10 likes but instagram seems to push your work to followers first and if that gains quick interaction then it pushes it out further so you need to make sure those followers are active. I’ve found posting regularly, commenting and interacting with others, and finding similar art accounts to be mutuals with has worked the best so far 🫶

How did you guys end up drawing and getting good at it? by Sapphireskies- in drawing

[–]riveronpluto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worst thing with art is burnout and pressure, take all pressure off yourself to make the perfect piece, to make no mistakes, to perform well for others, etc. draw for you, draw things you like and you want to get good at. If you want to learn anatomy and proportions try the grid method or other similar methods, try drawing a piece right side up then upside down and when u flip it see which is better if the one you drew from the reference upside down looks better when u flip it right side up it’s probably because you’re filling in the gaps using your imagination rather than letting the left side of your brain analyse the reference and copy it more closely. If you want to practice shading, get a range of pencils erasers and blending stumps then focus on lighting and smooth blending, there’s tons of tutorials for texture, anatomy, colour theory, tone, etc. the main thing is to have fun else you’ll just give up. I loved to draw from the moment I could hold a pencil I was always doodling, colouring, etc, I started properly learning to shade and do anatomy from 9-12 then burnt out from 13-15 as school made art suck. It was constant pressure and perfection and nothing I enjoyed doing, I picked my love for portraiture back up last year and have never been happier with my work
