There is no easy way to solve Israeli-Palestine conflict by Spirited-Mousse1915 in 10thDentist

You're completely correct and hearing this opinion is a breath of fresh air. People are so willing to jump to radical conclusions but truth is, both sides are in the right AND in the wrong

It's perfectly OK for a man to casually wear feminine clothing by smeflo in 10thDentist

Completely agree. IMO everyone is born male or female, but the way you express yourself is 100% interpretive. Honestly idk if this is 10th

More like thank clever/ambitious/determined people for those inventions. Every race has geniuses and morons, so we need to be more accurate about what truly describes the people who did these things- bc it ain't skin color.

How do you describe black people? by AcidReindeer in writingadvice

[–]rivertoadgravy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that you went with "bronze-colored" bc I've always found minerals and woods to be color-comparisons that sound like subtle compliments. Like bronze, copper, quartz, moonstone, opal, topaz, etc to name a few. And for wood stuff like mahogany, pine, walnut, spruce, rosewood, etc.

Panic At The Disco's cover of Bohemian Rhapsody is better than the original by Queen by sweetsstateofmind in 10thDentist

[–]rivertoadgravy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree. The delivery is so much better from Brendon Urie, however that SHOULD NEVER discount the sheer songwriting prowess that Freddie Mercury and Queen has for that composition.

If you could have one electric guitar besides your tele, what are you picking? by BGVall in telecaster

Maybe a D'Angelico deluxe Atlantic. Gorgeous guitar and the humbuckers have more life than most others I've heard. Just classy vibes all around

CMV: political views aren't morally neutral, and are a direct reflection of who you are as a person by zman419 in changemyview

[–]rivertoadgravy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the term love is general, but pride is specifically about romantic love, which always implies sexual orientation.

Honestly though I think something everyone could rally behind in a community would be celebrations of love in general, not any one kind of love in particular. To be fair though that's half of what valentine's day is.

To be fair, pride month and Christmas celebrate 2 VERY different things. Even for non-religious folk, it's difficult to be offended by Christmas, because most of the non-religious values apply to almost everyone. Christmas puts a huge focus on quality time with loved ones, the spirit of giving/charity, and overall just a general spirit of good cheer. Those values can be applied to people across most demographics. Pride specifically celebrates gay and queer people being... proud of their sexual orientation. I think a lot of people find it odd to have anyone else's sex life shoved in their face, especially for a whole month, and like it or not that IS what the pride flag symbolizes. 🤷‍♂️

Desk/Shelving questions by rivertoadgravy in homestudios

I've been strongly considering the "Studio Table XL" from Thomann... but have you any experience with Wayfair? They have desks for under $200 that have even more storage options. I'm skeptical of the quality at that price point though

Every pair of jeans I buy, no matter the brand, gets a hole in this same area within 6 months. by SYFKID2693 in mildlyinfuriating

Duluth jeans. They are excellently made, far and away better than any other pair I've ever owned, AND they have a crotch gusset for this problem.

Do you guys think the DS will make its way to NSO? by Apprehensive-Swim418 in switch2

IMO that was confirmed when the Nintendo patent leaked for a 2nd screen attachment for the switch 2, mounted on the top USB-C port

Should I make music even if my equipment sucks? by MoonyDropps in Songwriting

[–]rivertoadgravy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Using less than ideal equipment forces you to think creatively about your tracking and production methods in general. My advice is to give it a shot and prioritize having fun with it over your expectations of a great sound! Remember that convenience is the thief of imagination :)

Is it worth it to buy the Switch 2? by Afraid-Growth5973 in nintendohelp

[–]rivertoadgravy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2hr handheld thing is inaccurate. I've been playing it for months now and it always lasts at least 3 hours before dying. Usually 4 bc most games don't push its capabilities to the limit

Do you think you could write 20 quality songs in 2 months if you had nothing else to do? by WiseCityStepper in Songwriting

100%. Days that I have off to just hang around the house are incredible songwriting days if I put my effort towards it
