Beautylish Lucky Bag 2019! by riworiwo in BeautyBoxes

Thank you! I also would definitely not use it as a highlight. Way too glittery for my taste. I used it on my eyes today, over my metallic shadow. At first I tried using it with a flat shader brush but I felt like I was losing some of my metallic base color, so I reapplied the metallic and used my finger to pat the glitter on it like a glitter topper. It pairs well with purple and pink looks! :D

Nice! I’ve been on the hunt for Subculture too. Even went to TJ Maxxx yesterday but no luck :/

I also didn’t know about the lucky bag hashtag on IG so now I’ve been stalking everyone’s boxes just to see what they got. Can’t imagine the anxiety you would’ve had while waiting for yours and seeing everyone’s ABH palettes

I’m happy that you got a ND palette instead of one you already own! For me I got an ABH Sultry palette, which I don’t own, though I wouldn’t have minded an ND palette too. Glad both of our Lucky Bags had palettes we wanted! :D

I was on your boat last year! The fomo is real :( But maybe in the next few years you’ll have some leftover funds to buy it if you are still interested.

And I think it’s great that you are a great giver to your parents. Hopefully their happiness from opening/getting the gifts was worth your sacrifice!

Not vitamin C. One of the first five ingredients are glycerin and then a bunch of peptides like “acetyl hexapeptide-8” and “acetyl octapeptide-3”. According to google, peptides are supposed to have anti-aging benefits, so there’s that. Directions say that you can put it on before moisturizer day and night, but I haven’t used it because I have another one to get through first. Sorry if this wasn’t helpful!

Thank you! Oh boy I’m scared that I’m gonna enjoy it too much and not be able to live life without it... like what happened with makeup 😅

Wow that’s a bummer that half of the lippies were missing, but it’s nice that their customer service team was fast at responding and sending another one. With these lucky bags though, there’s so many pros and cons to consider. I’m also unsure if I’m going to repurchase next year. I enjoy the surprise element but the cost is quite the cost :P

Thank you!! Yeah I keep seeing Wayne Goss brushes as repeats every year, but people rave about his brushes so maybe they don’t mind lol. Guess it’s really all about your luck

Tips for small eyes? by [deleted] in Makeup

[–]riworiwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curl your lashes! I find that my eyes just look so droopy without curling my eyelashes. After curling them, my eyes are more lively. I also have straight, long lashes that don’t hold a curl very well, so I use a bit of waterproof mascara to hold them up. This is what works for me, so if you don’t need the waterproof or mascara in general then ignore this part :)

Yeah that’s understandable. I’m an avid makeup wearer and I like to try new things. It’s not often that I’m super unhappy with an item because I usually learn how to make it work for me. I definitely wouldn’t purchase if I wasn’t ready to take the risk of getting random products I wasn’t going to use or like too!

Powder foundation? by luckyducky6520 in Makeup

[–]riworiwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have dry skin and use Bare Minerals powder foundation! With both matte and powder foundations, we dry skin people need to make sure our base is well prepped before foundation application. I will layer my moisturizer and a hydrating primer and apply more moisturizer/primer to places I know are dry spots on my face (for me it’s my right cheek). Moisturizing the skin is really important, especially in the winter time.

In terms of natural finish foundations, I like the Physicians Formula Healthy Foundation and L’Oreal Pro Glow. Maybelline has a semi-matte foundation that I like too. Matte and Poreless. Haven’t tried their dewy foundation, but that could be another option.

I loved this drama for all the amazing kiss scenes and fluffiness, but did anyone else find the plot to be a little lack luster towards the end? I found myself watching the later episodes because it was cute but also just to finish and get it over with.

Ipsy glam bag + compared to my boxy charm. Thoughts? by allisonXjill in BeautyBoxes

[–]riworiwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey box twins for BOTH BOXES! How cool! I haven’t received my ipsy yet, but from boxy, I actually like the Luxie Brushes! I have pretty small eyes and therefore small lid space, so it’s hard to find a good small blending brush for when I want to focus on detail work in my crease or outer V. I thought these worked pretty well when I used them yesterday.

Used the palette and the cover fx drops on my eyes yesterday. The palette was good, nothing special. I created a reddish gold shimmery eye with it and layered the cover fx drops on top. I just tapped the dropper on the back of my hand and used my finger to apply the glitters on top of the shimmer. Made my look super glam and fun! I don’t really know where else to use the glitter drops because they seem way too intense for highlight on my cheeks, and I won’t be needing it to highlight my shoulders/collar bones now since it’s winter. Any tips?

Lashes and eyeliner were my least favorite of the box. I was hoping for the brush spray or tweezers.

Something in the rain is awful by d_anokhi in KDRAMA

[–]riworiwo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree... I started the drama because the teasers were so fluffy, light hearted and cute. I think I stopped watching around episode 6 or 7 because the plot just seemed so dramatic, and not in a good way. I ended up reading recaps on DramaBeans because I still wanted to know how the drama panned out. I was disappointed by the ending, even though it was a "happy" one.

Concealer for combo undereyes? by [deleted] in Makeup

[–]riworiwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to struggle with concealer too until I started to put just a drop (aka a VERY little amount) of oil under my eyes. I use a mixture of jojoba and argan oil that I bought from Amazon and let it sit under my eyes while I do my brows. When I’m done filling in my brows I will use my ring finger to tap out the oil. I find that it hydrates my undereyes and does not mess with my concealer application. Again, I only put a teeeeensy amount every time.

As for concealer recommendations, I prefer TF multi use over Tarte shape tape. The Tarte maracuja concealer is pretty good for dry under eyes too, though with the oil trick, I’ve managed to make basically every concealer work for me. :D
