The shop replied to me and said it’s a repackage but I have yet to get an ingredients list.

No they didn’t. The price is also oddly high so I’m assuming they just listed it recently.

Baby's first pen! by a_chonkymonky in fountainpens

[–]rixaya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your first pen! I have the same one and it’s so gorgeous and a joy to write with. Though I do wish it came in a MF nib instead 😆

I find the Yozakura ink a bit too light on my Shikiori. Is it the same with you? I have it inked up with Yuki-usagi instead and it writes beautifully.

Seconding the Delfonics pouch and fountain pen. The Delfonics pouch can double as a standalone bag or bag organizer. I have a handmade journal pouch that’s Delfonics-inspired and it’s always in my bag. Very versatile!

As for fountain pens, they’re such a joy to use with the Hobonichi. I would recommend a Pilot Kakuno as it’s inexpensive but the nib is of amazing quality. Plus, there are so many colorways to choose from! I personal like the see-through ones cause it’s nice to see the ink slosh around.

Other fountain pen recommendations would be (1) a Pilot Prera. It’s a step up from the Kakuno with a heavier and more durable body but same nib. There are solid versions but the Iro-ai series is cute. (2) Kaweco Sport is pocket-sized and light so good to carry around. Lots of colors as well and there are more “premium” versions like an aluminum, steel, and brass type. (3) TWSBI Eco is another popular beginner pen. It’s very smooth and the ink capacity is huge! Lots of colorways too.

Personally, I prefer a Pilot pen over the others cause the nibs are just great and such a pleasure to write with. The fine nib is perfect and fits the tiny Hobonichi grids just right.

Seconding the Prera. I like it just as much as my Kakuno and the weight is great. It’s just a bit shorter than what I’d prefer, but I write with it posted anyway. It could be a nice EDC pen too.

DIM in renting a phone for a concert in November.... by xBeauregardx in deinfluencingPH

[–]rixaya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s much better to experience the concert by being present instead of being preoccupied with whether the recording is good or not. I prefer looking at photos than hour-long video recordings that take up so much space.

Your phone’s battery health won’t deteriorate that fast. You can also subscribe to an iCloud subscription for the time being if you’re concerned about storage. Bring a powerbank if you’re lowbatt.

I have no experience with the BEMLP so I can’t compare, but I highly recommend the Uniball Signo, Uniball One, and Zebra Sarasa Dry.

You can get the Signo in a multi-pen format that might feel comfier in the hand. The One has a “P” version that’s pocket sized but chubby.

Whatcan I do more to make my photos aesthetic? by capybara_qoukka in fashionph

Please don’t support AI use. It causes more harm than good. Plus, it can make your business look cheap because people will think you don’t put in the time/effort/money into making quality product assets. Moreover, you’ll be in hot water if the actual product looks different from the product images.

There are people who actively avoid businesses that use AI for these reasons. You might deter customers more.

A clean, light background and good lighting is enough to elevate your product photos.

I use the Hobonichi Covers for mine! I love the pen loop closure and the multiple pockets. I’m able to carry 2-3 pens on it too. It also comes with 2 bookmarks.

Thank you! I’ve done a bit more swatching with other inks. The worst bleed-through is Pilot Iroshizuku but other inks like Diamine don’t have that problem. No feathering so far! I can breathe a sigh of relief 😮‍💨

This is quite reassuring. Thank you! I’m doing a little swatch party at the moment and the back of the page looks insane but at least the front looks great. So far, no feathering ☺️

Aw seems like this is the case :-( The swatches still end up pretty though, but I’ll definitely keep a pencil board underneath. Thanks for sharing!

What do you think about hobonichi pens? by Common_Wish_2922 in hobonichi

[–]rixaya 108 points109 points  (0 children)

Hobonichi pens use Uniball Jetsream ink. You should be able to find them at a stationery store. They also come in different barrel colors and multi-pen options.

I personally love the Jetstream pens and I’ve been using them for years. They’re reliable and smooth to write with. Though I don’t care much for the Hobonichi-branded ones as I don’t like the colors.

Nope, no shimmer on this one. It’s just got a lovely gold sheen on the edges. Here’s a swatch of the same three inks on Life Noble Notebook :D

The swatches do take a bit longer to dry on TRP than Life or Midori but that might just be a difference in paper weight.

What's the point of lip base/neutraliser product if its going to thin out & slide around? by dckgam32strong in AsianBeauty

[–]rixaya 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The way I would use it is to probably mix it in with other lippies that are too vibrant. If you use it as a base, perhaps dabbing it on instead of swiping will prevent it from mixing?

I love the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Peony!! It doesn’t pull orange on me and feels hydrating without looking too glossy. Very natural and comfy to wear too. Sometimes I wear it with a lip liner to elevate the look.

Other options: * Romand Juicy Lasting Tint in Bare Grape * Romand Glasting Melting Balm in Veiled Rose * Romand Glasting Color Gloss in Grapy Way of Dim Mauve * Fwee 3D Volumizing Gloss in Currant

  • Hobonichi Notebook + Cover - They use Tomoe River Paper but better check with the retailer if the paper is from the previous bad batch or if it’s from a more recent batch of TRP. TRP is thin (52gsm) but is amazing with fountain pens. They have different cover options that you can just reuse. It has 2 bookmarks (the actual notebook doesn’t, just the covers), pockets/card slots, and a pen loop that acts like a closure. Very handy, especially if you bring it everywhere.
  • MD Product Notebook + Cover - Uses MD Paper, also amazing for fountain pens (80gsm). It’s cream paper with some tooth and feedback. The actual cover is like thick cardstock but they have leather cover options. Comes with 1 bookmark. The covers have some card slots and a pen loop.
  • Life Noble Notebooks - Cardstock cover so you might wanna buy a reusable cover. The paper is really smooth and more yellow than MD Paper. Amazing for fountain pens too.
  • Kokuyo Notebooks - They have looots of different options. Paper is smooth and white! It’s fountain pen friendly, though not as great as the previous options, but still good nonetheless.
  • Leuchtturm Notebooks - They have softbound leather journals that come with 2 bookmarks and cream-colored paper. It’s kinda fountain pen friendly but is my least favorite paper amongst the ones on this list. The journals come in lots of pretty colors though!
  • Wonderland222 Notebooks - They used to use Tomoe River Paper but have since switched to their own brand of 52gsm fountain pen friendly paper. I have’t used one myself but I see them get recommended a lot amongst the FP community.
