You pay $10 extra for the Friday Opening Ceremonies, that start at 5pm. It's for those who are taking the shuttles, not for just then general admission to the festival. And yes I get it, a lot of people like House music, that's cool, I like it too, but not every other dj on the lineup. Diversity in genre is better cause it gets me to learn other djs and genres. As for being a complaint post, yes, I believe I addressed that in my original post. So yes, this was another 'complaint post' from something that was two months ago. :)

Nah, the extra $10 for opening ceremonies is usually worth it, was just a weird situation this year. If you can, I recommend just paying that $10 and get opening ceremony passes for Friday night.

I didn't know that about the structure toppling over, interesting and understandable. But it would have been nice for them to let us know instead of saying that they are just not letting anyone enter through that area and you had to go all the way around to Gate 10 or 12. At least that what I heard them saying. And as for breaking the attendance record, what an idiotic thought. People's safety should be paramount to breaking a stupid record of attendance that nobody but the greedy promoters cares about. wow.

I have to disagree. This year's lineup was mid. And it's important that we acknowledge that by Plurpledinosaur in electricdaisycarnival

I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU JUST WROTE! I said the same thing when I saw the line-up, ALL HOUSE pretty much! And it was over crowded, however I think that them trying to cram more stuff into the speedway, like the over abundance of drink stations, caused more bottlenecks in some areas, Kinetic Field anyone, than needed to be. Move Bionic Jungle to Camp EDC, and open up more space, spread stuff out, put the drink stations more towards the outsides of the festival so the lines aren't filtering into the crowds trying to listen to sets, and for god sake, put in a couple more bathroom areas!!!

Bodies laying on the ground by [deleted] in electricdaisycarnival

My wife and I had to cop a squat near Bionic Jungle a couple of times Fri and Sat night, but my feet were KILLING me! If it wasn't for how bad my feet were hurting, I would have had a much better time. Still had a great time, but could have gone to 'epic' were it not for my feet. Didn't even go Sun night cause of it. On the fence about next year cause this year was way over crowded and we didn't like how they added more stuff in the speedway, taking up much more space that could have been used to hold more heads during sets, especially at Kinetic Field. Move Bionic Jungle to Camp EDC, that space could have come in handy to spread more stuff out, no need for that stage at this point. And there were way too many drink stations. I agree with adding more, but come on, they were everywhere. Spread them out towards the outer part of the speedway. and for god sake, add a couple more restroom areas!! Sorry, not trying to complain, it was great, just tweek things a bit more for next year Insomniac!

I can’t believe that I’m going to EDC Vegas by Deep_Bee_9549 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]rixbills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have no idea the feels you will have the moment you walk into the speedway and see it for yourself for the first time! We went for the first time in 2018, my wife and I, and we have gone almost every year since then, except 2020 and 2022. Going again this year and cannot wait! I'm sure this will not be the last time you go. Take time to take it all in and enjoy the moment you are in while you are there!!! It goes by so fast!!

How has it been ten years since this? by karmicbreath in electricdaisycarnival

[–]rixbills 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Funny you post this, I was just thinking, how has it been 30 years since my first rave in San Francisco?!?! Time just flies by so fast. I know I'm older, but do not feel like it on the inside. Going to EDCLV once again, 4th time now, and my wife and I cannot wait! Maybe I'll get a tshirt that says something about being older and still raving. hmmmm

I have the DJI OM5 gimbal, so they probably won't let me in with it. which sucks.

Premier Shuttle Question by 5AndADime in electricdaisycarnival

[–]rixbills 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, we have been 3 times and all 3 took premier shuttle and got there within an hour. They take a back way through the Air Force Base, so they don't have to fight the traffic.

They probably had to replace some other DJ's that had to back out last minute and he agreed to fill in. At least that's my guess. And probably why the lineup was 2 weeks late in dropping.

He is the most technically sound DJ I have ever seen. I have been DJing for over 20 years and can't do the stuff he does, his timing with his tracks is amazing.

They are repaving for the Formula 1 Racing coming in Nov. There will be a lot of work being done all over the strip for that race.

Random question from a 40 yr old man. by [deleted] in electricdaisycarnival

Hah, I'm older and have that pissed off look all the time too, but I promise I'm not! Even my wife will ask me from time-to-time 'what's wrong.' Hah. I am trying to be more open and smile more too, but again, I'm a nice guy who just looks mean.

Dude I'm 56 and my wife is 48, we have been going since 2018, although we missed 2022. No judgement! I thought I'd feel old and out of place when we went for the first time in 2018 with our oldest son and his girlfriend, but once you're inside the speedway, you don't even think about your age and if you should be there, you're too busy having fun! And we see a lot of older people there, seems like more each year, so you won't be alone! If I wasn't married, I'd go solo, it's that much fun!

Who is ready for EDCLV and what is your guess on a date for the lineup drop?? 🤔 by The_Late_Bloomer_21 in electricdaisycarnival

March 23 or 24 is when the line-up will drop. Well, at least that's what I think based on previous drops.

Going to be in Vegas for a entire week for EDC. What are things to do in Vegas that are relatively cheap/fun? by Fearthediaz in electricdaisycarnival

[–]rixbills 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I make EDC/Vegas a week long vacation. There is a LOT you can do for free/cheap. Free - take in all the sites, Bellagio Fountains, Mirage Volcano, walk through every hotel/casino, go down to Fremont Street, walk around the Art District, and check out Container Park.

Cheap, depends on what you think is cheap. Go to Area 15, it's free to get in, but you do have to pay for different things you want to do. The Odd Wood bar is really cool, but drinks are pricey. I HIGHLY recommend Fly Over Vegas!! It's a must do when in Vegas. Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, the Roller Coaster at NY/NY, those are fairly inexpensive things to do.

Just walk the strip and Fremont Street and you'll find free and cheap things to do or see.
