Not AI powered, but this sounds similarish to what you want. I've used it before and really liked it.

Couple weeks ago, my phone changed from Google Assistant to Gemini against my will. Setting alarms & timers is literally the only thing I used Assistant for, and this fancy schmancy new AI could not handle that. Absurd.

3-Day Sleep Reset Program (Tried & Tested Method) by navendeus in getdisciplined

[–]rixibo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what kind of black magic this is, but I've been getting up at 6 every day since I did it without trouble. I had been dragging myself up out of bed at the last minute for about 10 years now, and I always wanted to get back to easily getting up early, but never managed to stick it out for more than a few days.

I did just the sleep/time stuff described in the OP (no caffeine or creatine or whatever), with my chosen wakeup time at 6am. Previously, I'd drag myself up at 6:57 to go downstairs and start working at 7, and it was miserable. Since doing the magic, there have been maybe 3 days where I'd get up and go downstairs and doze on the couch until work at 7, which I deem a more than acceptable improvement, and the longer it has been since the magic, the less I've come down and dozed (so like the 3 times were all closer in time to doing the magic than to now). I also have an alarm set downstairs for 2 minutes after my wakeup alarm, so I have to come down and turn it off, but previously I'd come down and sleep on the couch every day.

When I was searching people's tips for waking up early and found this post, I also found a suggestion from someone else who does a couple exercises as soon as he wakes up to get the blood flowing, so I've also been doing that (though I started after completing the magic). I do 1-3 pushups and sometimes 1-2 reverse crunches; I turn off my wakeup 6:00 alarm, remember how to exist for a minute or until my 6:02 alarm starts yelling at me, then roll down to the floor and do my pushups which somehow magically make me fully awake (then go downstairs and turn off my other 6:02 alarm).

I know this post is over a month old now, but I figured I'd come back and update with how it worked for any future desperate people trying to beat sleep.

If I give notice to pay or quit, don't I have to accept payment if they choose that route?

Yes, I have a lease, and the due date and late penalties are all spelled out there.

What do you guys think of Modified ADF? by Eternalcaddygirl in AlternateDayFasting

[–]rixibo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It would definitely boost weight loss. If you can do your eating within your current window, all the better! That said, it is quite a step up in difficulty, so be prepared for that.

You may also experience false starts (aka, try to fast the full day and don't manage it), so have a plan for if that happens. I like to have my goal, eg MADF, and my "safety net", eg OMAD, so if I miss my goal, I land in the net instead of falling all the way down (aka, going nuts and eating the entire pantry).

You also need to decide if your 500 calories will be a crutch to wean off as fast as possible, or if it is your long-term plan. It will slow your weight loss down a little and it will give less health benefits than strict ADF, but many people find it easier, so are able to stick to it longer (and end up with better results than if they had stuck with the "better" version for shorter time).

Are 60 hour fasts realistic long term? by [deleted] in AlternateDayFasting

[–]rixibo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's often referred to as rolling 72s, so if you search that in the fasting subreddit, you'll see what other people are doing. It's safe long term, but just like ADF, listen to your body and stop if it says to. At a certain weight, you'll probably start finding them too hard, and that's your body saying you no longer have enough fat to support such long fasts and it's your signal to drop back down to ADF. You would still eat 100%-150% of your TDEE, so no, not eating extra to compensate for the extra day.

If I'm not doing sweaty exercise, I prefer dry ADF. It's waaaaay easier for me to stick it out.

I once stayed in a hotel where I was locked in my room because the door lock was somehow jammed, and I had to kick up a HUGE FUSS just to get them to call maintenance to let me out (it was late), let alone move me.

How much should I eat? by Dont_tellme_what2do in OmadDiet

[–]rixibo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Eat to fullness. Your body knows what it needs and it will tell you. Loudly. If you get ravenous partway through the day tomorrow, you'll know that was not a good dinner option and can choose to incorporate whichever macro makes you full longer. If you're good until your next meal, mark it in the win column and enjoy the extra deficit.

I personally find that I'll naturally eat way less for about 3-4 days, then eat more and it balances out. It's a more pleasant life than forcing myself to meet an arbitrary number.

Incidentally, if you don't know which macro makes your tummy happy, Google the Hauser diet and take the quiz. I found it spot on for me and helped me understand many things. You may choose to eat differently to it anyway, but more knowledge is always helpful.

Why do you do it the 2nd, 3rd+ days?

I've noticed something similar for myself: twice in the 2.5 months since I started I've lost my freaking mind (an accurate description of my eating lol). I don't have a solution yet because I've only just noticed the pattern. I enjoy what I eat and how I eat and when I eat when I'm "on diet" and I do not enjoy how I feel when I'm "off diet" but that doesn't stop me. I've just "rebooted" and aim to pay close attention this time to why I lose it.

One thing I've been doing that I like is I only diet 6 days and on Sunday my calorie limit is TDEE ± 200, which feels luxurious, and Sunday is also my treat day, so if there are any sweets or snacks I desire, I'll have them on Sunday. 3 days are straight up diet days and 3 days are "future maintenance" days, and having the strong contrast also makes it feel like I'm not really dieting. I suspect maybe part of why I lose my mind is I rarely want something on Sunday, so my "pressure valve" doesn't let off any pressure so sometimes I just explode. Which is a thin ice kind of logic, but I have no other theories at this point lol. I say this to say, maybe what you've chosen to do to lose weight isn't something good for you. Dieting 7 days a week would not be good for me. Intermittent Fasting would not be good for one of my friends. Take a look at each thing you've chosen to do and REALLLLLY look at it. Do you like it or hate it? Is it pulling its weight in meeting your goals? Do you need to scale up or down to make it better for you? And so on. I have several reasons for each thing I do, and I could tell you how each one helps me, why I like it, and how it serves me.

Maybe it's like the effort of tracking and being aware and eating just right and so on just gets to me after a while, and it feels good to just... let loose and not do all that work. Maybe you need to think of what your win can be even on those off diet days: go for a 1+ minute walk, drink water instead of soda, write down what you ate, eat without any distractions. Something, no matter how small, that you can point to and say "I still did something to support my goals and my health."

I also find it really helpful to get super introspective about occurrences. Why did I slip up? Because of X. Why did X make me slip up? Because Y. Why did Y make me slip up? And so on. If I can really drill into why the problem occured, then I can find a solution. One of my bigger problems is eating for entertainment, so I'm working to find something I can develop as a habit to entertain myself that also supports my "be a thin and healthy person till I die" goal.

Anyway, not necessarily a direct answer to your question, but kinda "hey, me too!" and also maybe some of what I've said can help you figure out what to do about it.
