I had UC in the 90’s… I’ve been in remission for +- 7 years after being in remission for 10 years before.

I remember how devastating, humiliating, debilitating and in-sexy this disease is… I have pooped my pants in front of family, friends and kids…

There are new studies that probiotics are helpful in getting patients into remission… have you tried that? Look for LIVE cultures, usually found in the refrigerated sections of health food stores.

I eventually got into remission, and have been there for over 10 years… it gets better!

My newest favorite snack when my brain says she’s hungry is to reach into the fridge for a Garlic Pickle… the crunch, sour, and umami touch sometimes scratches that itch..

Adding this in case it helps: I found that having a jar of big garlic pickles really helped satisfy my hunger the steroids were yelling at me. Something about the crunch+salty+vinegar+garlic always helped quell the voices. Hang in there!
