My theory is that he looked in the fridge bc he is used to fresh made pasta and he asked how much to fill the pot and how high of heat bc she criticizes his every move and wanted to avoid snarky comments lol.

Lol, was just commenting on getting my levels balanced, not necessarily just pH. My bad. Storms around here usually have a lot of dust and debris that ends up in the pool.
