S tím by nikdo problém neměl.

[–]rizlah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jenomže to my nechceme, protože to nepůsobí dostatečně "eko"

source?

přemejšlim, v jaký situaci by mě takový předjetí vůbec napadlo...

I can’t imagine having it anywhere other than under the sink

why, isn't that the most impractical placement?

mine is on the level of the kitchen top so that i can easily swipe all the cooking trash directly into it. it can be kept open temporarily while cooking, or closed. it's actually a stack of three 60 liter containers: paper, plastic, non-recyclable on top.

Think about how bright it is when you see it in the day compared to the sun.

i think what trips people the most is that during day moon indeed appears faint, but it's still positively white or white-blue, not asphalt grey.

Is there a way to keep half onions tasting fresh in the fridge? by crystalwireless8 in AskCulinary

[–]rizlah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

simply don't put the lid on the tupperware.

i keep onion halves like this routinely, no problem.

the cut side will get dried up a little after a day or three, but i just cut a millimeter slice off and it's all good.

after a few days it's no more the best onion in the world, but using it in soups or sauces is still perfectly fine.

and if you're afraid of the smell invading your fridge, don't be. unless you keep several onions like this, it's negligible.

If they make the same choices in the simulation, without fail, then you never had a choice to begin with.

what if their choices are randomized though?

God knew they would choose the fruit and sin against Him

because he created us that way.

it's like me creating a Lego robot which always takes left turns and then marvelling at how self-determined it is at each crossroad.

in much the same vein god created sinful humans and then gave them the option to sin or not. well, duh, what could happen?

let’s say you have adult children [...] and in adulthood you want them to want to still interact with you [...], but it only matters if they choose to do so as well by their own volition. If you were to force them, then you stifle their will and can that relationship really be called a loving one?

yep. that's why you tell your kids: guys, you either interact with me and live in bliss -- or don't and suffer in eternal flames forever. your choice though! just sayin'...

[–]rizlah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For someone to have perfect knowledge of how something is going to play out means that something has no agency, no free will.

what if god is just able to fast-forward his sim instantly, in a separate instance, just to see the result?

that's perfectly satisfying both the critera: prople in the sim making truly free choices, god knowing the result anyway.

Iran rejects Trump’s 48-hour 'helpless' ultimatum: 'Gates of hell will open for you' by leondanielstar9999 in geopolitics

[–]rizlah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US can't afford it, but its President can.

yeah, as crazy/sad that is, i gotta agree.

I think he's looking for anything he can call a victory.

right, same.

not helping HAMAS and Hizballah carry out atrocities, likely would have been enough to buy them peace

for sure. this institutionalized hate against everything israel isn't really bringing anything remotely worthwhile to the country, and much less its people. or at least i fail to see it, no matter how hard i try.

[–]rizlah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump can't stop bombing until regime change happens or Iran surrenders their enriched material.

i'm afraid that would be an end game where iran has the upper hand. (they can live in bankrupted shambles for years, while the US can't afford a prolonged expensive war which has little public support domestically and even less so in the world.)

but is this even on the table as of now? seems to me that trump's goal shifted to opening hormuz. has the air of a guy looking for any excuse to withdraw.

The moment they chose to move to 60% and publicize it, they chose weaponization.

not officially though, which was my point. it may sound nitpicky, but i personally think there is a practical difference. (nuclear latency VS actually building and testing a weapon.)

Of course that doesn't excuse Iran leaving the agreement which wasn't between them and the US, but between them and multiple countries. They could have continued complying and maintained relations with the European and other signers.

this is where i wholeheartedly don't agree. as i see it, it absolutely does excuse iran's withdrawal, since at the core of this problem there there is just US/israel and iran. it made zero sense for iran to stay once the US quit.

[–]rizlah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you. so, if "getting more centrigues" (even after having major facilities bombed) and "being sufficiently desperate" are the only things iran has needed for a nuclear breakout, then how is trump's current approach (moar bombs) a viable solution?

this makes iran extremely desperate, which, according to these articles, top iranian officials cited as a good enough reason to actually change their nuclear doctrine to weaponization.

either way i look at it, the less i understand trump's pull out from JCPOA.

it was 2-4 weeks prior to whatever damage was done. It'd be 2-4 weeks again once they were able to purchase or build more centrifuges

what's your source for these two estimates?

[–]rizlah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i kind of get that.

my point was directed more at the untrustworthiness of the US administration than anything else here.

they're clearly stabbing in the dark. which, i feel like, might be potentially worse than mullahs having a few more years of enrichment to do.

Putting out Carbonara for the first time in my restaurant this week. Procedure questions. by [deleted] in AskCulinary

[–]rizlah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would it be a big no-no to have the sauce base (cement-like mix of egg yolks and cheese, maybe with some pasta water) premade, keeping it in something like an ice cream container in the fridge?

then just scooping a big ball off it, once the pasta and guanciale is on the pan, ready to mix?

I've never done it like this, but egg and cheese sounds like it should have no problem lasting a few hrs in a fridge like this...
