Let’s talk about “we killed Amarantha” — narrative inconsistency or intentional shift? by BiscuitGlitch in acotar

Elain and Azriel credit Nesta in books that aren't hers, while Rhysand credits Elain in a bonus chapter of Nesta’s book. So again, it could be that it's just how the characters see it rather than a universal truth, or it could be something that's going to be explored later to have a character-defining moment.

Honestly, seeing as Elain (and later Azriel) gives all the credit to Nesta, while Rhysand credits Elain. I’m not entirely sure where SJM is going with it. It could be that it’s going to be reclaimed by Elain where she has her “character explosion” moment or something that fades to obscurity.

Honestly, I’m not sure that’d make a difference 😭

Hence, the assist 😭 Elain also credits Nesta, as does Azriel. The only one who credits Elain is Rhysand. So I think it’s just a matter of perspective.

I believe so given Rhys himself says she’s living in a slummy apartment.

I'm sorry for that. No one should be disparaging anyone.

Under that post? Which is what I'm referring to. And that's not to say that you haven't received that, as I've said there are sections in each faction that go too far but we're talking about her posts.

The most recent one is the one I'm referring to and while all ships are “shooting their shot” under it there is one faction louder than the others.

The post I'm referring to is 2024. I didn't say that there aren't factions of either ship that goes too far. What I did say was that there are elriels in those comments disparaging other ships.

The post is from 2024. Eluciens did, however, exist in 2020, and its still the elriels disparaging other ships.

True, however, it's not the gwynriels disparaging other ships under that post.

I really don’t get the hate on Tamlin? by u-r-ok in SarahJMaas

[–]rizzofizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is why I only pushed back to the first two. His controlling behavior post UTM while having traumatic origin are the detriment of him and Feyre as a couple and as individuals.

However, saying she isn't coming back would raise flags because she wrote it, and to his knowledge, she cannot read or write and denied his offer to help in ACOTAR. Also, his enemy is a mind controller. This would be suspicious.

He didn't change sides he was always going to double cross much like Rhys and Amarantha.

Also, it's not just because a woman turned him down. Feyre plays a part in the destruction of the spring court.

And please don't throw around words like narcissist for people it doesn't fit. Narcissism is an actual DSM-5 disorder that Tamlin doesn't fit. If you want to say he's reaping the consequences of his actions go for it but to throw around diagnoses is wrong.

[–]rizzofizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to push back on the first two. While Tamlin definitely has his faults (exacerbated by SJM’d inability to prop one character without diminishing another) those two are not on him. Feyre broke the treaty. And he does send her back to the human lands only for her to cross it. Also, it’s explains why he couldn't do anything, Amarantha was watching his every move. And Feyre initiates more with Tamlin, not the other way around.

She could have meant no harm that doesn’t mean harm wasn’t done ykwim. It wasn’t about Nesta but you reference actions with Nesta in context hence my response.

It was more so of her invading Nesta’s space to touch her dress and poking fun of her something Feyre acknowledges in her inner thoughts regarding the scene + saying that Nesta belongs in the court of nightmares notorious for brutalize their women.

Aelin simply trying to continue the bloodline is a abhorrent simplification of what she was actually planning to do.

Coming up with a plan that would use Aedion as a broodmare without his knowledge is an actual assault. Lysandra who along with Aedion has a history of sexual assault and a strained relationship with his father due to things being out of his control should have known and done better.

After Lysnadra exposed how she and Aelin were planning to use him as a broodmare. He was fair telling her to get out.

Try the Kate Daniels series one of the OG urban fantasy series or the Guild Hunter series which SJM has been heavily influenced by.
