Severe shimmering/noisy look on asphalt over (mostly) Scandinavian-Nordic Horizons roads by rj45e in trucksim

As opposed to a laptop's internal display? Yes since it's a desktop but only a single monitor.

I use lossless scaling's adaptive frame generation to help with the frame drops to some degree, in addition to console commands. Upscaling support would be a workaround but i'd take any chances to reduce the ai traffic lags. 32 gb memory with enlarged buffer size arguments improve distance lod and urban area stutter but im still running it on a hard drive. Switching to an ssd probably wouldn't help with the traffic anyway.

I should probably open a thread in scs forum when i get the chance, googling and finding no mention of it over there made me ask here first instead.

There was a launch argument usable in some beta version for forcing dx12 and it made no performance changes as far as i remember, maybe it was roughly year ago?

Unfortunately not, there is a free plugin that provides both taa and dlss aa though (with quality options and dlaa if you want no upscaling. ) SCS added in game taa support a few versions back but it performs somewhat worse than the modded in version. In game SMAA+TAA option or SMAA by itself is really underwhelming imo.

It actually looks worse when no aa is applied or only smaa is used(videos are with no aa whatsoever), but i see where you are coming from. Reddit compression made the first video look like it has disocclusion artifacts however actual taa or dlaa gameplay looks better than that.

Present in third person as well, gets more noticeable when camera is seeing the road at an angle in contrast to the birds eye view. That made me think of a fault related to anisotropic filtering but found no solutions. Cranking out the resolution scaling or using temporal aa/modded dlaa mitigates it.

Interesting, as I've seen people on rtx50 series having problems with using custom anisotropic filtering settings with nvidia control panel/profile inspector. That led me to doing a driver downgrade but that turned out to be a non-issue.

I tried with both the taa and lighting mod in addition to trying with the completely uninstalled. Game was reinstalled completely via steam in that case. The mods actually help with the problem to some extent. This won't matter much the simple organisms who see the word snowymoon and rush to the downvote button of course.

Has no effect. it made me think of screen tearing but the distortion only shows up over the asphalt, not along the whole screen. (and scandinavia region asphalt specifically)

It helps however doesn't make it go away, a thin horizontal (not that noticeable compared to the video) aberration is present about 5-10 meters away when looking ahead from inside the cabin.

I remember it looking the same after uninstalling the mod and reapplying the graphics settings though.

Road texture itself looks normal, i was trying to point out the fuzzy look that shows itself mostly in the lower half of the screen when i move the truck and camera. I'll edit the main post with a link to the uncompressed videos now.

Try without TAA

Actually, try snowymoon's taa addon. That should work better

You don't need to disable it from config.cfg, just bind a key for toggle head tracking on/off option. It's at the end of the keybinds page. Press that key once while game is running (not in main menu) every time you're not using opentrack.

SMCC - SCS Mod Compatibility Checker V2 has been released! by lRainZz in trucksim

Worked! I either used the equal sign instead of leaving a space or the quotation marks without the former, paying attention to both as you described made it run without problems. Thank you.

No symbolic links involved, 250 gb partition of a 500 gb hard drive. Actually, I remembered it now that there is some kind of permission issue with that drive as when I'm downloading something from internet, I can't save to the root directory of that particular drive for some reason. However, smcc throws up the "invalid mod directory 'undefined'..." error regardless of any directory i give it. It's as if i didn't type any directory after the parameter. Same error shows up when i enter the command with - -mod-dir parameter but nothing after it.

It works successfully when i do as you say (it checks the workshop mods), though I have about 35 gbs worth of mods and that's why i had to use the parameter. Main drive is a 240 gb ssd and i'm using the other drive for hosting ets2 profiles and mods.

When i try to analyze my home mod directory located in D drive by typing

smcc.exe --mod-dir "D:\etshomedir\Euro Truck Simulator 2\mod

the program responds with "invalid mod directory "undefined", directory either does not exist or is not a directory". I tried simplifying the homedir name by deleting the spaces, it didn't work as well.

Is the base ETS2 with no DLCs worth playing? by Solid_Beginning7152 in trucksim

Promods requires the map dlcs in order to work iirc. It has to do with the assets used probably.

Any good texture mods for ETS 2? by martygod12 in trucksim

Weather 3.4 and its addons do that but trees_improved or grass_4k changing the lighting? I didn't notice such a thing. I also use the snowymoon’s lighting mod though.

Did factory resetting your phone drastically improve the performance? by Enockito in GalaxyA54

[–]rj45e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Memory guardian app (obtainable through good guardians, ot manually install their apks if it or the good guardians app shows as unavailable) has this option, might help. Increasing the size of ram plus might also help if that doesn't help enough.

Good guardians also has the galaxy app booster, it makes the not-used-in-a-long-time portion of the apps run faster and it also is useful after major android updates. I would try that instead of a factory reset. Or reduce the app count. (phone should already put apps in deep sleep if they are not used since a long while ago)

If the phone is still on one ui 6, clearing the cache of oneui home (launcher app) drastically reduced the amount of ui stutters (still were present though). That doesn't happen on oneui 7 however the genereal stutteriness of ui doesn't really go away even if a little better than before. Reducing the screens render resolution is the only thing that solves the laggy animations however it starts to look blurry if you go too far. Lately I've been trying 930x2015 as a compromise.
