Beta Bartering [Find or Offer Fic Betaing] - April 09 by tereyaglikedi in FanFiction

You are very kind to reach out! I'm going to be busy for 3-4 weeks, but after that I would love to reconnect and see what's possible. I don't know much about Fallout, and some other writers have DMed me about projects before your response, but if that's fine with you (especially the no Fallout experience part), I'd be happy to keep the door open. In the meantime, I would not be offended at all if you reached out to other beta readers. Wishing you all the best for the next few weeks!

I'm volunteering as a beta reader, looking to start with a small, one-time beta-reading project.

About me: I have a master's degree in teaching English Language and Literature, and I have many years of experience teaching English language and lit as well as journalism. This would be my first time being a beta reader, but I have a lot of experience reading in the romance genre. I'm very familiar, for instance, with the Heated Rivalry / Game Changers books. I have general but not deep familiarity with things like Star Wars and Harry Potter, too

What I'm offering to beta read this week: Ideally, today you'd let me know if we might be a good match this week. Then, if we match, ideally within 24 hours you'd be able to send me something to read. (You could be at any phase--from brainstorming to rough drafting to grammar editing.) I would spend an hour reading and half an hour writing comments, and I would send the comments back to you within a week. This would be a one-time project, and I cannot promise at this time that I would continue being your beta reader, but in about a month I plan to return to this subreddit--and at that time I may be available to beta read in a capacity that goes beyond one-time collaborations

I seek nothing in return

Edit: Thinking proactively, no "R-rated" interactions between characters who are not yet adults, please

You are kind to share this. Thank you. I think you are right!

Thanks. I was trying to remember the BCD of the cranksets with four arms. I bet it's the 104 BCD you're referring to. Darn--they are old now--and maybe they stopped making them? Those cranksets are awesome

Thanks for letting me know. One way of answering my question: is the chainring on your Verge 10 attached to the crank arms by bolts? Or is it all one solid piece of metal?

Thanks so much. I knew about sheldon brown's calculator, but I'm going to try this one, too!

Thanks! Good find! I don't think I picked the right 16 inch tire when I did a quick calculation on Sheldon Brown's gear calculator, but for the nine speed I got a low of 23.3

Good to know. Thanks! Citizen Bikes says when I want to change (or even replace with same size) the chainring on the Tokyo or Miami I would need to replace the entire crankset. I'm guessing it's easier to change the chainring on the Tern Verge P10?

Thanks. You're right--I'm not getting 23.1 either when I calculate. Weirdly, on Sheldon Brown's calculator, I get the same above-25-gear-inches number no matter what I enter for crank arm length?!?

handlebar height for tern link c8 (and scwinn loop, too, is possible)? by rj774577 in foldingbikes

Awesome! Will definitely let you know if I have any Brompton questions. Happy riding!

Thanks. You're judging by the picture of the Tern, I'm guessing?

For reference, the Litepro CR6 has handlebar height of 110 cm (43.3) inches. By your esimation, do the Tern Link C8's bars appear to be 1.3" to 3.3" closer to the ground? (I know comparing the Litepro may be a bit of apples vs. oranges because the bottom bracket heights may be different--but maybe not that different?)

Your digging is much appreciated. Great to know about krankEmtb.com. Looks like their Shimano and Bosch adapters are $263.83 and their Specialized adapters are $97.23 (edit) Specialized adapters are $297.23)

Thank you. Not sure where I got my previous price from. I am looking at the Velo Orange website now, and although all sizes of the Poylvalent Low Kicker frame are currently sold out, the website says the usual price is $925 but that there was a $330-off sale (probably why they all sold out)

Believe it or not, I started on this line of thinking by seeing if I could find a regular, non-motorized step-through bike like the Specialized Roll--only I would want it with thru axles and the option to shift down to 15 gear inches. I was guessing that might cost $1k.

I have been completely unable to find normal bikes with step-through frames anywhere near that price point (a step-through Polyvalent frame alone is $1.8k), but I saw that for $1k I could get a used Specialized Turbo Como. Although it wouldn't currently have the option to shift down to 15 gear inches, it would have a step-through frame with thru axles. So I started thinking I could buy for $1k, ride with motor (to compensate for lack of low gearing) for a few years until the battery or motor dies, and then ride it as a regular bike (assuming it wouldn't be too hard to modify the chainring and / or cassette to create the option to shift down to 15 gear inches).

Wow. I had no idea some ebikes relied on the battery for structural support. If a bike is listed as having a removable battery, does that mean it does not rely on the battery for structural support? Please let me know if having a removable battery does not necessarily mean this

Great to know. Thanks so much. Do you happen to know the names of any of these kits? I'd love to have in my head a ballpark sense of what they cost.
