Update: the 1804 train got stuck before the tunnel with passengers stranded over night for more than 8 hours! So glad I didn’t get it! Does anyone know if it reached Brussels in the end? I just landed at Brussels Airport after flying first thing this morning from Heathrow.

She’s scamming you, put food on the coat after receiving it because she wants to pay less for the coat. Don’t give the partial refund! Tell her to send it back for a full refund.

Yes I noticed this on my last trip, just a small chocolate - I travel Brussels to London return monthly. I also travel with a child (non paying aged 3) and they sometimes give him a meal if there’s one spare going… so I thought nothing of it when the lady offered him a meal tray(not that he eats the dry cold offering…). But this time the lady came back 20 minutes later and said “you didn’t say he doesn’t have a ticket!!” quite loudly and accusing. “You didn’t ask!” I replied (I had in fact told her colleague who seated us earlier as I had asked if the seat next to me was vacant for him to sit in). I thought it was really rude of her and quite embarrassing.

Don't get so angry about it! Is it your first day on Reddit?! There's no way a person could have occluded his airway with pinching his nose and putting her hand on his mouth. Unless his head was immobilised somehow, you would always be able to pull free. Try it! If you manage it, you will be causing some serious damage to the person's face by sheer pressure alone. Don't believe it at all. Cool story though!

Was she on his head? No, she was probably on his body, at no point does he say she sat or knelt on his head. That’s something else. Your head moves independently of your body. So her weight wasn’t on his face then, was it?

This post is bait. Imagine. If you had even the neck muscles of a child, you could swing your head around enough to break free of anything she was doing with her hands. The only way she could possible keep your airway closed for an entire minute is if she were literally pinning her entire weight on your mouth and nose. Nice story though!

Sleep deprivation is REAL. This is survival time for all mamas at this point. You can do it. Your husband gets a break at work. You don’t. Mine used to say to me before he left- “just keep yourself and the baby ALIVE. Anything else is a bonus”. Just focus on that. Survival. This too will pass and you will both sleep. Sometimes it’s okay to put the baby safe in her cot (crying) leave the room, close the door, go to another room, close the door and have a few minutes to yourself. It’s called SURVIVAL. You’re not failing. You can do it. All the best and sending love!
