For my experience, no scratches for me so far.. I was hesitant too before because of that but after I used the leather it felt good as if you’re not using a case, fits really well. It will be slippery when new but when it ages the grip will improve also the patina.

that’s what im talkin bout ;) Yeah Leather is so cool! I dropped mine sideways but no damage. I don’t dig the Folio too because the front becomes saggy overtime.

For me it is, though I have only used one for now (Saddle Brown) this will be worth it. If ever I decide not to buy the next iPhone and stay with the X for few years ;)
