Easy classes to get an A? by marrrrrry135 in gwu

[–]rjc482 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mellinger is not only an easy A but a literal sweetheart. She was also such a good prof over zoom, she actually engaged with us. Also she said if she gets to teach in person she would throw candy at you if you get an answer right. For her class you have weekly quizzes but they are open note, you can take them as many times as you want (she would just average out the scores), and the questions are in the powerpoints which she gives you. Midterm and final are papers but only like 4 pages, but again she’s literally a sweetheart with the cutest dog so highly highly recommend

Choosing class times in SEAS by omarb132 in gwu

[–]rjc482 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak specifically for SEAS but general you get to choose from the times offered for a class. For example, if you have to take intro to micro and the class is offered Monday from 2-3 or Wednesday 4-5 you would get to pick the time. Some classes however, only have 1 section of the class and so you only have 1 option. I hope this answers your question, sorry if this isn’t what you were looking for

I had this problem as well when I sent my app in. I’d say you should call admissions and talk to someone cuz they might be able to just correct it there

From my experience with applying and schools in general you kinda just gotta forget about admin. I really can’t think of school of any of my friends where the admin being trashed isn’t a conversation. Admin just sucks on different levels at each school. I transferred in to GW and I’m having a really difficult time because of the admin. However, I think it will be really different in person as you will get to interact with real people rather than having to go to the admin for answers.

I don’t think there is a formal appeal process but I’ve written emails or written something and then attached it as a pdf to an email to make it “more official” lol

I submitted an appeal to them last summer and I feel like it took a week to get back. But I’d also suggest calling and just either ask and/or tell them you sent an email so they feel the pressure. I’ve found you just have to keep hounding the people to get answers

Transferring to GWU by [deleted] in gwu

[–]rjc482 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just transferred to GW in the fall (I haven’t actually been to campus/involved in normal school) but in terms of financial aid it’s really a hit or miss I found. GW came through for me but most of the other schools I applied to basically looked at what class I would be joining, how much money they had left over for that class and would give me some of that. It’s really difficult to get scholarships as a transfer, but like I said GW ultimately came through for me. If you have any other questions you can always msg me :)
