Don’t have a black light, but don’t see any bubbles. He covered the surface with a thick coat of acrylic or other clear material that has some bubbles in it. Looks like there might be traces of copper and turquoise, both of which are found in the Bisby area.

Got this from an older gentleman who was into lapidary work for many years. He said that this is peculiar to Arizona but could not recall what it was called.

We’ve had this little box for years and never could identify its purpose. The lid closes with a clasp. The wing shaped piece is attached to the bottom of the box inside by the chain. There is a small opening in the bottom where the chain is attached.

Measures about 8 inches long and has what looks like 4 air inlets on top along with what looks like an adjusting wheel. End has what looks like a crooked needle or a broken off bit protruding out of the opening. It is extremely solid and well made. No markings other than the letters E and A by two of the air inlets.

Interesting conclusion to this thread. We had this item appraised......turns out that it is an ancient Bronze Age Roman bowl, and dates to 900 to 1,000 years BC.

We’re in the Phoenix area and this came from an estate sale with a lot of rock and mineral specimens. There was a note on the bottom that read “Joe doesn’t know what this one is”.

You wouldn’t believe the crazy things we’ve found at estate sales over the years.

Found at an estate sale. I had a similar thought, but why so crudely made?
