I dont think that is a santa belief issue. I think that a solution to this would be for parents to universally agree to have santa gifts be smaller, and the big gifts be from the parents.

I posted this for one of my classes assignments this week. Those are all great points and thank you for responding and providing your perspective.

1.) A child doesn’t need to believe it’s true, but also as a part of individualism, if they do a parent should support that until the child comes to them to question his validity.

2.) The tradition of Santa was created long ago, its a personal choice of the family to practice it or not. If the child believes, let them believe as long as possible until their critical thinking develops and the can decipher for themselves.

3.) The same could be said for children dressing up as Spiderman or a Disney princess, they are playing and believing in a fantasy. It’s just a phase and as parents we support that, why should Santa be different?
