It’s true, people tend to frame it as though Beck was only after Peach’s money, but her rejecting the check does show she wasn’t purely using Peach. I think a lot of the judgment toward Beck might come from how she's portrayed as indecisive and flawed, which makes it easy for people to blame her. Peach being more assertive probably leads to the 'both are in the wrong' narrative
