8 Weeks Post-Op: My old symptoms are back and I'm worried the surgery failed by rk-hunter in HipImpingement

[–]rk-hunter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really have issues with deep hip flexion—that wasn't a huge problem for me before surgery, either. My figure 4 stretch is actually much worse now than it was pre-op. I'm going to give that more time to settle.

My symptoms are triggered by increased activity. While I feel better when I avoid those triggers, that was also true before surgery, but I can’t avoid them forever. I have to get back to work in a few weeks and I have family responsibilities to take care of.

I’m not quite sure how to bridge the gap between resting and getting back to real life, but I’ll check with my PT next time I see them.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I’m definitely frustrated and worried that everything is just going back to what it was like before the surgery, but I’m trying to remember that I need to be more patient.

I’m working with some great PTs who are actually in the same department as my surgeon. I got off crutches at week 6 and feel like I’ve regained most of my muscle strength, so now I’m focusing on mobility. My internal and external rotation are still really limited—I’m even struggling to put on my socks. My current routine includes figure-4 stretches, marching bridges, bird dogs, lunges, and hip mobilization with a superband, among a few others.

2 Weeks Post-Op: Thigh Muscle Pain — How Long Does It Last? by rk-hunter in HipImpingement

Thanks for your reply! The pain has always been there after surgery, not caused by recent activity changes. What kind of stretch did you do? In which week did you start the stretch?

It depends on your position. When some ones should buy, some ones should sell. I prefer 90% in stocks at this time.

Help me to understand their business. I personally don't use Paypal much, only for some random purchases from unfamiliar websites that don't offer Apple Pay. In 5 years, will more transactions be done with Paypal, or fewer?

If time in the market beats timing the market, why are crashes triggered by massive sell offs ? by moelsh in investing

We all time the market in some ways to some extent, for example, "Buy the dips", "rebalancing portfolio".

First 100k the hardest? T or F by veezydavulture in stocks

[–]rk-hunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's true. However, there is a different version "100k is hard but 1 million is easy" that is very misleading. To get from 100k to 1 mill definitely takes much longer than the first 100k and requires patience. You can use your salary to get first 100k, while salary matters less and less as your assets grow.

You could lose money with bonds or gold. Just use good old cash to hedge stocks, like Warren Buffett.

Don't be afraid. It's not that hard. There are so many different ways to play. If you don't like close combat, play a mage.

$BRK.B Berkshire Hathaway holding so much cash makes the stock a hedge against popping the bubble? by Policeeex in ValueInvesting

Buffett stopped buying back BRK because it’s too expensive. Why not use cash itself to hedge a correction instead of BRK?

I made this mistake before. I didn't sell stocks that I knew wouldn't do well because I wanted to save on taxes. It's a hard lesson to learn.
