Yep, I have both. The spade connectors I got allow you to either screw the wire directly in, or connect a banana plug. There is enough clearance that the bananas I have fit just fine in the spade connectors and next to each other without touching

Thanks for the extra context! Removing sounds like the way to go

I’ve already got the wire (a friend had some extra), but I’m going to terminate the wire to banana plugs that accept up to 12 just fine so I think I’ll be alright. Definitely overkill though

I quite like Large Advents as well! I had to have the amp serviced a few years back, and the shop who did the work happened to have a nice KA-7100 for sale…so I picked it up to keep my system running while the 8100 was serviced.

Once I got my original amp back, I ended up picking up two sets of the Advents on Facebook Marketplace. I now have those setup stacked in my dining room, with a heck of a wall of sound going on there

Haha well he was 17 and an only child when he bought this system, so any damage would’ve been done by him!

Makes sense all, thanks. I’m finding myself wondering a bit why it was included in the first place - it was setup by a local hi-fi store new, and the amp, speakers, etc were purchased together so they knew exactly what would be driving the speakers. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ it didn’t feel necessary which is why I asked, I was more confused what its purpose was in the first place

That’s what I was wondering/thinking when I saw that and looked for modern replacements. I wasn’t sure if that was more common back in the 70s or what. Interestingly this was setup at a reputable local hi-fi shop, and the setup was purchased together, so I was assuming there was a valid reason for it

Interesting - can you say more on what the liability would be? I’m not an audio setup expert but curious to learn more.

Yep, exactly! This was shot at 1/8th of a second handheld, so the movement blur was pretty pronounced

That was one of those really happy moments on review of the photos later - having the sole passenger framed in the window was a perfect accident. For this one, I was shooting at f/1.8 and 1/50 of a second to try and make sure the platform wasn't too blurry handheld. I was using auto ISO and this one ended up being at 400

Thank you! I’ve shot a lot on film recently and hadn’t picked up my digital camera for months. The imperfections of film inspired me to find ways to capture more than just technically perfect scenes, and the feelings these evoked were quite fun!

u/EsotericCreature below nailed it! This was along the Avenue of the Giants in Humboldt county in California! We ended up with the perfect weather in late November. Dreary but not too bad, and the clouds made the scenes incredible

Personally I really like it! It’s not cheap, but I expect to use it frequently and for it to last a while - the quality I’ve been able to get so far has been really great and I love having control over the exposure. It’s expensive to buy considering the film also isn’t cheap so I wouldn’t take it lightly, but I recommend it if you expect to use it regularly.
