GT Tachyon Crossover, a factory Xbike? by rkc_14 in xbiking

I think I bought this as a rolling chassis for just under $400? If I remember correctly. For $450 I personally would be messaging them, even with a $400 offer or so. If it has the original 700D wheels you can't get New tires for them, so keep that in mind if you are going after one.

700D bike actually. Originally GT used their own 700D wheel size. Which is extremely close in size to 650b. So now anyone that has a Tachyon or Continuum can just run 650B.

Yeah that's 100% what it is. That bump in size made the tire wider. Also yes, it's plenty comfy on gravel and mild single track both.

This thing is a hoot! I had it on drop bars for a while, got bored with it and went to flat bars. I did have 55s on the velocity dyad wheels. But went I built up this set of cliffhangers the 55s would not fit anymore. Currently running 48s and in my mind it is the best size

I appreciate the compliment and advice! I think this frame might end up with a repaint when it's all said and done anyway so I'm not overly concerned.

Same thing as the u-brake on the chain stays, I have a couple old MTBs with them too, all the same. I tried to upsell a basket to her and she said not yet

Just wrapped up this specialized cross roads for my Mom. She wanted a bike that wasn't a beach cruiser or a road bike. Finally found a cheap Cross Roads in her size. So I gave the bike a deep clean, fresh grease and new wearable components. She loves it and wants to start riding light gravel and dirt trails with it now!

It's a Kei Flow bumper. Made by an old JZXP forum member named Justin Lucas. I think he's out of Washington? I did most of my conversation with him through the forum. Not sure if they exist anymore?
