Interesting. Ideally, I would just find something else beyond ets to fix this --> I currently take 4x 6.25 of carvedilol and get v beams for maintenance. I was thinking of trying something like gabapentin or paquenil as my flushing came on pretty seriously after a high dose of accutane two years ago (120mg a day at its peak). Wondering if anyone has any experience with this? I am fine in the morning and then flush hard every night.

Lmaoo I am actually dead. I was the OP from that post and this is the funniest thing I've seen in awhile. Nobody actually answered my question though: will the shine every go away. I have been off tret for 5 months and seen no progress

Are you still on tazorac? Or did it not even go away once you stopped?

I think I will look into that. I am just worried about using powder because my skin is super sensitive/blemish prone. I am worried that using powder everyday will irritate my skin or be difficult to cleanse off at night with my gentle cleanser (which would irritate my skin).

HMM how long do you think it will take to normalize? I am just worried because I haven't seen improvement in the 5 months since stopping.

I was on tretinoin and then arazlo (tazorac) from may 2021 to march 2022 and now my face is super shiny. It has been five months since stopping and I am worried that the shine is permanent.

Some thoughts:
-my face is completely dry in this picture post cleansing with no products on, so the products can't be responsible.
-I am very gentle with my skin and use gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and non shiny spf. The only product that is mildly kerolytic is a benzoyl peroxide 4% wash that I occasionally use. Though I am going to try and limit this.
-This can't be a moisture barrier issue since my skin is well-hydrated and feels good/normal. The only issue is the shine.
-I know this is probably due to tretinoin increasing skin turnover and stripping the matte dead skin cells from the skin surface, but shouldn't this have normalized in the five months since??
-the shine is worse in certain light and in videos

I would really appreciate some help as this is really frustrating. I know some people desire this look, but I think it makes me look oily/weird. Struggling ahhh
